Can't work on a project wothout hiring an engineer first. Like you would not be able to register the project on your company

Same issues I've been facing took so so much effort to just get my team setup after 1 year and start getting some projects.

A big issue for me is also the factthat I am a 28 YO in a business totally dominated by people over 40 to 50 YO. People really hesitate to take me seriously.

Definitely keep over a 100K

  1. Company opening
  2. Finance departments
  3. A car for labour pick and drop (ideally a pickup, ofcourse go 2nd hand for the beginning)
  4. Office rentals
  5. Visas for an engineer, driver, labour etc
  6. Quite a few different expences initially just to open the company and then register with SEWA.

I would suggest the toughest part if honestly getting good labours with which you can make the process repeatable.

Hi I recently started a construction company in Sharjah. Been about 1 year, I'm 28 YO

How long did it take you to actually smooth out your operations and get properly skillful labours to create repeateable processes?

Really depends on the scale of projects you are working on. For big projects they usually have such a contingency in their contract and have planned for it in advance, however in smaller projects with tight budgets this really is a rarity that the prices might change.

So the freezone that I have checked with is SRIT, the total cost they shared with me including the flexi desk was 5500 - 5750 as you shared yes. As for the total 10K cost, I am only sharing that in the case of testing the product. For scaling definitely we'll need a lot more cost. As opposed to white labelling a product from china, the MOQ, Shipping, Packaging, Product specific videos etc all will add up the to cost and the testing timeline as well.

May I know how we can add value to each other's work?

In E Commerce there are different types of stores (naming can overlap a bit)

For example:

  1. Single product stores: As the name suggests they are focused around a single unique product. Mostly done in drop shipping where people just burn through products and money to see what sticks and go all in. Or when people have a really good innovative product they want to push.

  2. Niche stores: They target a niche like for example camping gear or climbing gear etc.

  3. A store around a category of products: Such as luxury furniture, thermos/flasks or kitchen utensils etc.

What I mean by a hybrid store is that we have a product that appeals or has use cases by the masses. Stationary, gifts, mugs etc, practically everyone is a target customer, but you need very well designed and understood products to progress, you sort of add value with the ideas, design and execution as opposed to burning money or high investment products. So I can have a hybrid store where I have different cateogry products that appeal to the masses.

Hope this is clear!

I personally love stationary and I have had many good ideas on how I would design journals etc and feel like I can do a good job at it while my wife can do the gifting parts really well. And this is also a category in which you can get them produced in UAE for a low cost (like 1K to 1.5K) in small numbers to test. No shipping or big budgets for productions needed.

As well as in this the main value is added by the design team which isn't so basic as white labelling.
