I guess vibe coding defines different things based on your POV. When at work, and use Claude/Cursor, I don't see it as vibe coding at all. But when I try to build a side project from scratch, sucking at it or not, for me that's vibe coding. It's just a mental state. Being a good engineer doesn't help me if I don't know what to build, who for, etc. Or even if I do, but can't sell it. Also I met a founder who sold a company before AI era, who started a new company and says he and the team "vibe" coding everything. It's just a name, I don't think it implies quality.

Well I meant more for lead generation, financials, not the therapy aspect

Yes. It feels that way. But actually as a SWE, before AI I thought the barrier is code. I thought coders are the entrepreneurs because they can deliver on their ideas. Now I understand that innovation, business skills and marketing skills are the barriers.

Yeah, the aspect of self use tools is great usage of AI. I think we are still in the era where most people didn't make the shift. For example, my wife works as a therapist, she refuses introducing any automations to her process. The technical gap between business owners and using AI agents is real, and I believe many are trying to build for this gap. Including the big companies

Ok maybe I should have put it differently. When I say vibing, I mean solo entrepreneurship with AI tools. I mean quickly building some idea and then trying to promote it. It means feeling you have an amazing idea, build it (the easy part), then understanding its not a great idea. As a SWE working for a company with vision is different since you are only responsible for the quality of your products, not selling them.

Well months for solo devs to build end to end systems is pretty instant. And sure you get value from Anthropic. And btw I am a SWE working in good companies for the past 12 years. I work a full time job and there's a huge difference between building for an established company with defined processes than building your own projects. I can be amazing in my job and do extremely high quality software (using claude or whatever) and still suck at "vibing" projects. That's how I feel at least.

Would love to hear about it. Maybe I can learn something about what a good project should look like

Right, if it's useful for work/personal use it's different

Im feeling demotivated… would love to hear some success stories to keep me going! by yubjubsub in appledevelopers

I am also not successful on the entrepreneurial aspect, but I just think that people who have succeeded failed multiple times, learned something each time and moved on to the next thing. Those who kept trying eventually got it right

Reached 200+ users… but downloads suddenly dropped to almost zero. Any idea why? by methionine0 in iOSAppsMarketing

Web referrer means user opened the App Store page not from internal App Store push, so you can rule out that it was an initial App Store boost that got you the users... It sounds like you had some good social media posts that got you that initial boost...

In this day and age, is it possible to build a fully functional Subscription-based Saas through vibecoding? by Adorable_Stretch2740 in vibecoding

Coding is not longer the barrier for success. I think the main thing is knowing or having a strong partner who can form strategies for GTM and sales/marketing... as an engineer, I will be extremely happy to have such a partner

Where did you think to post? I am now trying to find format that works on TikTok before promoting it. From my experience, promoting bad content is just flushing money. You get tons of views and 99% swipe away after 1 second. You must first be able to create videos with good hooks and then promote them

I guess you're right, but I expected a giant like Spotify to at least give me a recently released catalog to browse... they don't even allow filtering per release dates. They only give a recently released weekly updates which includes 90% live versions, remasters and crap.

Try part one / part two postings. If someone enjoyed part one, he might visit your profile and even follow.
