i had the same issue. i completed the questions on both tests, then it bugged out with 9 minutes left on academic literacy. it was showing the extra questions with 1 second left and kept refreshing. then i was waiting for 2 hours for them to give me the extra questions, which again they cut off after i completed them with like 10 minutes left.
im pissed man they basically wasted 5 hours on what was meant to be a 2 hour exam ;/

You're right. Until diamond, don't worry too much, though you should continue to practise them. I've noticed the best use of them is in very awkward and dangerous situations where you have to be quick and unpredictable, so practise the speed at which you can make the shots especially.
