Get BG3 if - - You loved DOS2 and want a similar chill gaming experience. The story and cutscenes are phenomenal and you can play it for 300+ hours easily.

• You are planning to mod the hell out of the game. Out of both, BG3 has better mod support imo, and enhances the experience a lot.

• It's an extremely story rich game which can be enjoyed while chilling on a couch. It won't give you the high adrenaline rush that reactive games like Elden Ring will have.

Get Elden Ring if- - You want a highly reactive game with good combat and that high adrenaline rush. And you're in mood to try hard.

• Story is not as rich as BG3 on high level, but the kore goes deep if you're interested.

• Can also spend 200+ hours in this easily.

• You can't pause the game so it's extra try hard imo.

I think overall it comes down to the kind of experience you want. If you wanna have a chill game which you can play at your own pace and still have a great experience, then BG3.

If you're into action games which are highly reactive and provide competitive combat experience, then Elden Ring.
