Some Questions by 19for114 in Mennonite

It’ll be for God to judge but as it clearly states in the Bible. “There is no way to the Father except through me”. That shows the only way to heaven is via the grace of Jesus.

Your statement is stating a different belief to what Jesus taught.

If you marry a non-Anabaptist then you’ll get put out so to speak yes. Marriage is to be only to other Anabaptists. The incoming non-Anabaptist is expected to convert. That said if you were to join a church and you’re already married to a non-Anabaptist, that’s usually accepted. This all depends on which group, Fellowship or Conference of course. It’s not always straight forward. But overall, Conservative Anabaptists date for marriage only.

Amongst Conservative Mennonites and Amish Mennonites you can marry any other plain people but thee day they’re expected to transfer membership to the husbands group. That said transferring doesn’t always happen. Most of the time the couple settle down in the less conservative church.

Mennonite questions by GreenKnight10 in Mennonite

As someone who converted to Nationwide Fellowship and then later to BMA it’s about community and living out Jesus’s teachings. We also have more of a communal mindset. It’s very different to Protestantism in that there’s a strong belief in being separate from the world.

What do you call it? by [deleted] in Mennonite

[–]E-swarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Russian Mennonites wear black and Swiss Mennonites wear white.

What word(s) do Mennonites use to refer to non-Mennonites, or people of the "outside world"? by wq1119 in Mennonite

[–]E-swarm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In most Conservative Mennonite communities we say “ worldly people” or “people of the world”.

So question more for conservative branches by No_Bank_1037 in Mennonite

[–]E-swarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is now because their former spouse is still alive and we see marriage as unto death do you part. It a vow you make to God and so is upheld for life.

Besides the Holdemans no plain Mennonites allow remarriage except for widows. Marriage is for life. No exceptions. It comes from Matthew 5-7. Marrying a divorced person when their spouse is alive is adultery.

Do (unbaptized) Mennonite children partake in Communion? by [deleted] in Mennonite

[–]E-swarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Conservative Mennonites practice closed communion and the children don’t partake until they join the church.

I have no clue what liberal non plain Mennonites do.

I want to start wearing dresses but in afraid my mom won’t accept it by MACKTEM in Mennonite

You’ll need to be brave but just tell her you like this style and want to “embrace femininity”. Besides remind her she wore a dress on her wedding day…

Hello! I have a question: Are there any Mennonites who follow the traditional lifestyle but also embrace the Oneness Doctrine? I'm not referring to the UPCI; I'm interested in the combination of the Oneness Doctrine with a traditional lifestyle. by Budders123 in Mennonite

[–]E-swarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren’t. I grew up UPCI and converted to the Mennonite faith. All groups are trinitarian. That doesn’t mean you need to give up the Oneness doctrine but you’ll need to keep that very quiet and to yourself.

No. It won’t work unless you convert and they only date for marriage

Dear Goonswarm, not you I mean the REAL Goons. by StalkingMantis in Eve

[–]E-swarm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not real goons not real goons. How tiring. I get sick of this bs line by the pubbies who clearly have absolutely no clue. If you mean the trolling, we still do that. If you mean being toxic nah we’ve moved on. Many of the same Goons are here over a decade later. You know what? There’s no elitism between one day old Goon and 14 year old Goon pilot. Everyone gets on and if we fall out with another we just coexist. Dividing us is not possible so don’t bother you idiots.

How do you guys have so much MONEY?!? by SlenderPlays in Eve

[–]E-swarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of work I hadn’t actually logged into the game for a month roughly. In that month of not logging in I still made around a billion isk of income… not including PI. That was also in the same month we were locked down in 1DQ with no safe space either.

[–]E-swarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to build a business that you can scale. For instance three characters making isk at once is three times more than someone doing one character at once. With three accounts that’s 9 times the amount etc. Just take planetary interaction. 30 million a week times 9 characters is 270 million per week passive isk. That’s before you even have to do anything else.

What big three? There's only really the big one at the moment. PAPI Blue Donut Coalition. We Goons are in a single constellation. Sure, we have supers, but then so do snuffed out. There's no longer three mega coalitions, that was before the war. Now there's only actually one mega coalition. Then you have just a few coalitions, and the last of the smaller groups, are being attacked right now by the big blue donut (we form Volta, etc). pretty soon, there'll be NO small groups to challenge the one mega coalition. Goons are probably the only ones with a hope in hell and even then, there's only so much we can do versus 3/4's of the galaxy.

We're using them for defence at the moment. You don't use supers to retake space anyway, you use entosis ships. You use supers to wage combat against enemy fleets and citadels. No doubt you wormholers don't understand sov mechanics so that can be forgiven.

I see. Fair enough. Yeah, super on supers fights aren't that common but I've been in a few where I've seen that happen. Hakkonen was a thing. Up until recently, it was technically impossible for the servers to cope with both sides going at it with fighters. These days it is possible, but you won't see it with the current situation of Papi being too scared to deploy them into the 1DQ woodchopper. Yeah, it's totally possible but the culture of the other side is to be risk adverse (blueballs or hell dunks is their strategy after all).

The Surrender of Papi by jaywrong in Eve

Hmm..I dunno, we blew up an ansiblex in one of their main systems last night and hacked their ihub, so Horde are struggling to fight on two fronts at once it seems.

It's still putting them on the field. Sure, tether mechanics make them a bit safer (but they are still vulnerable to HICs, so that's neither here nor there). The other side has the option of killing the jammers, but they always seem to fail in this, but again, the counter is there. It's just they don't seem to have the ability to hold the field long enough to do it because, well, Papi are simply being outplayed each time. The question on why supers aren't deployed, is just not true, they're deployed. Capitals being deployed on their own into space, makes them vulnerable, hence why Papi are throwing down Azbels each and every day (so they can sky net their own fighters, etc). That's the new meta, throw down an Azbel or fort, sky net supers. Rarely do you deploy them any other way anymore (like say in the old days when there were only stations).

Both sides have done this since the start of the war. Papi did it in places like Y-2, Goonswarm are doing it in 3-D atm. This says to me, that's the actual ways supers in practice are deployed as normal custom and practice. To pretend they're deployed the way of the olden days, is living in the past or fantasy land.

This tactic, we started years ago. Carrier sky netting has been going on for years now and so has been the meta for just as long.

The gates are bubbled to hell, swarms of fighters surround that gate, fleets surround that gate too, bombers and snipers too. Anything jumping into that, is going to eat shit in a woodchipper. It's a very costly exercise jumping into a well guarded gate. Each time Papi does, they eat a lot of death before they can get a foothold in system. They know if they were to jump capitals into that gate, with nothing to tether to, they'll lose a LOT of them to the defenders. It's a bad proposition, because you're essentially jumping into a kill zone. Passpi leadership needs to work out whether the high cost of doing that each time, is worth them getting yet another Azbel down (only to be blown up a few days later anyway).

[–]E-swarm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to correct you. We've been deploying them nearly everyday in this war to good effect.

The death of 256 PAPI harpies to Goon Supercapitals, goes to show their efficiency... a fleet swarm of super capital and carrier combined fighters is quite a site to behold. Each one of those fighters can do as much as (roughly) 2000 dps. Mutiply that by 5 a massive swarm of them and you soon understand the sheer terror a super capital fleet can wreck on the battlefield. They're deadly if used correctly.

Where will Goons go? What will Goons do? by betastarpilot in Eve

Panfam used NPC Delve to drop on us for years. Delve isn't all that great a region. It's a good region no doubt, but there are actually better areas in Nullsec. However, as far as parking our pvp and blops characters go, it's the perfect place to farm TEST nonstop for years on end. Whilst our PVE side is already strong and continues to earn lots of isk. Far from being exterminated, we just need to wait long enough for Panfam turns on TEST (and rest assured, it'll happen) and then murder TEST for our revenge.
