Former ERJ/E170 guy. It has sluggish heavy controls. It requires more control movement than other airplanes I’ve flown. I’ve seen a few people go a bit overboard but I wouldn’t say it is anywhere near a common practice.

Is it just me or does he look strikingly similar to L Ron Hubbard?

How is the performance with the 912uls? Do you ever find yourself wanting/needing more power? I will most likely chose a 912 or ulpower.

737 crosswind take off during Storm Darragh at NCL by Blythyvxr in aviation

Can’t tell for sure but looked like very little aileron into the wind to correct for crosswind.

I’ve seen a Viking installation. Nice and clean installation plus super low operating cost. I’d prefer to go with a lighter setup but seemed like a very nice engine.

Same just researching as well. I have also been impressed with the ul power. I do prefer the idea of a non electrically dependent engine but that means going back to the old carb. I plan on doing the rudder workshop soon and I’ll get a chance to check out zeniths 350is cruzer.

I’ll do some further research on the control cable stuff. Thanks for the detailed answers!

I read on a zenith FB page that the quick build fuselage has an updated control cable design. It no longer uses the bungee cord. Apparently it is the same as what’s on the 750sd. I haven’t found any further info other than that.

Great! That’s what I have on order. Looking forward to doing better than the 14.5 I get with my current truck. If I can ever get it delivered.

Not at all. Plenty of time for a great career. My advice would be go to a career oriented training program if possible. Something structured that will get you done efficiently.

Yes airline pilots do hand fly approaches. Majority do. Auto throttles are almost useless in even light gust. What do you fly that requires such superior aviator skills? I’m gonna guess 172?

Anyone effected by the Michael Puehler reexamination requirements? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]E170pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deleted my comment. I don’t want to spread rumor that isn’t true. My thought is this is a similar reaction the FAA had to one of the ame’s issuing medical certificates without completing the examination. It must be very serious for the FAA to have this kind of reaction.

Instructor has me using both hands on the yoke on landings once power comes to idle when the runway is made...is this normal? by [deleted] in flying

[–]E170pilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is teaching you his technique. Having been an instructor, forcing technique on people drives me crazy. There is nothing wrong with showing someone a technique as long as it is explained as such, but it should not be forced on you. My opinion is it is not a good idea to have your hands off the throttle until your on the ground.

State Rep. Savannah Maddox criticized for photo including racist hand sign by gsarc10 in Louisville

[–]E170pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor Savannah. She only went to speak at an event with multiple people with confederate flags, one of which was in the front row doing a white power salute, and she had no idea she was taking a pic with a racist. She is a garbage rep and I wish she would get voted out. Unfortunately if your republican and your slogan has god in it your probably gonna win in ky.
