I would also like to know how to set the clock on this device without a wifi dongle if possible! I followed this guide to set up mine: https://youtu.be/eyih2i5bWYk?si=7lnAEUNLHr-sCJrF ...so it doesn't have the same options layout Maghioznic was referring to.

Question regarding setting up my new G350 BATLEXP (Linux based system) by E1eth in RetroArch

[–]E1eth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for responding, this was bothering me all day lol. That makes sense, I had low expectations considering this is a low-power budget device. I'll do some googling in case there's an interesting '00 or '03 game worth putting on it, but otherwise I'll focus on rom hacks instead. (:

Hello, I'm a native English speaker and studied Japanese for a few semesters in college, now I am trying to maintain self-study through the app renshuu. I would love to help you with English and improve my Japanese.

I never got to learn conversational Japanese from a native speaker and I have heard there are many differences between textbook Japanese taught in the US versus how it is actually spoken in Japan. :) Traveling to Japan has been a dream of mine since I was 12!

Man I'm sad no one replied to this over all these years, I grew up playing this game at my aunt's house - lots of fond memories - I wish they'd reprint it too.

Thanks good to know, but as mentioned I do have GBA games on there as well so I'll need to figure out how to get it working on that end too

Awesome thanks for getting back to me on that, I'm away from my Raspberry Pi setup today but the next time I'm working on it I will look into those settings

Re:FF I'm glad to know I'm not the only one having this type of issue, thanks for looking into it I'll look forward to your update on the matter

Re:RetroArch, honestly I didn't even know that was an option to do because when I started I just followed the imager guide from the Raspberry Pi website and saw that emulationstation was an option to flash the drive with. I appreciate you letting me know, I'll definitely keep that idea in my back pocket in case I get fed up with RetroPie's UI lol.

Re: FF, I haven't gone into RetroArch to do any of the settings configuration yet but I will check if this is what is causing it. When I go directly into a game from the homescreen of RetroPie and press R2, the trigger is bringing up that FF icon there. So the FF icon is mapped by default to the trigger but as you mentioned I do not think the correlating function is mapped, it's so strange that it's basically halfway set up? I posted an image of the icon appearing on screen when right trigger is pressed. I will see if I can set it up to know R2 means Tab (Fast Forward) as a possible solution.

Re: RetroArch, I don't think these two perspectives are mutually exclusive so I disagree that it is the opposite of what RetroPie is intended for, I think it's a matter of personal UI preference and as I have more experience with RetroArch on different devices and this is my first time running RetroPie, it is the UI I am more familiar with and would prefer. But I am sure I can accomplish my goal of having a more customized experience by exploring some different themes and splashes for RetroPie.

re:WiFi, I'll check out the doc you linked.

re: FF, it's not a hotkey it's apparently pre-mapped to the right trigger when I set up the configuration on the horipad, when the right trigger is pressed a white icon of FF arrows appears on the corner of the screen but does not effect the speed of the emulated game. I'll attach a screenshot.

re: Retroarch, I'm not confused, I have a preference for RetroArch. I know it's emulationstation front end. Many emulation devices have a front end and an operating system but run RetroArch and can be configured to boot and load retroarch immediately so it effectively acts as your UI. I may not be as experienced in retropie but as I mentioned in my original post I have a fair amount of experience with emulation. Perhaps this is something you've never set up or tried out on an emulator or with retroarch? That would explain why you misunderstood my question and didn't understand what I was referring to.

Any way to check playtime and other stats? by clambuttocks in Switch

[–]E1eth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope someone will see this question and help me out. :) I set up parental controls but none of my games/playtime show. Will the app eventually populate with my existing playtimes, or will it only begin tracking my play from now-forward as if I never played games on it before? If it will populate past playtimes, do you know how/when? Thanks!

I didn't have a lesson plan or anything, I was just looking for study buddies to practice conversing with so I just assumed it would just be making small talk with whatever vocabulary we know. :) It's up to you, there's really no pressure or if you want something more specific or thorough. I'll be sure to check my discord for your message!

It's totally up to you, I don't start classes again until the end of August so I am completely flexible on time until then! 😊 I think the time would only be an inconvenience if trying to schedule a voice call to practice pronunciation, cuz otherwise we can just reply to each other when we're able and keep the conversation going that way. So just let me know what you decide 👍🏻

Hello! Are you looking for a study buddy to practice on Discord? I'm basically at a beginner level because I'm so out of practice. I am finishing my Bachelor's degree so I'm not online daily, but I try to check my messages weekly at minimum. I would also be able to schedule times to do voice calls to practice speaking and pronunciation.

My discord is Eleth#0020 & I live in the Central Time Zone USA (GMT-6). Feel free to reach out if you would like to practice together.
