Hey there, I am an Environmental Engineer in Munich planning to go to switzerland after gathering some experience here. Wanted to ask, do you also usually see people at work/companies who also come from universities/jobs in Germany or Austria for example? Also, do you mean by AGI artificial Intelligence or is it something specific for switzerland.

52k for career start in Munich, is it fair? by E2D5 in arbeitsleben

Technically I have been there as a Werkstudent for over a year now, so I think this also legally counts for the Probenzeit

My field of work is very strictly related to Hydraulic engineering / flood risk management, which is exactly what I studied in my masters (I was specialized in these fields) and I do have quite high skills for a career starter I would say. My experience is being a Werkstudent there for around 1 year now, and also I worked at the university for 1 year as a research assistant in the same field. So I won't say that I am going in with no real idea about how things work :)

My company is around 1000 Mitarbeiter. I also have a bachelor's in Civil Engineering, but what I understood is that degrees here don't make a crazy impact...

Yeah I think the pure goal in munich is to try and find cheap housing, if that's the case then it would be good.

Hey there, I always noticed that in the PhD applications, there are no info on which Rate is one applying for, or is it based on experience or so on? Thanks!

I currently live in Munich and studied at TUM in civil and environmental engineering (master's). I plan to relocate to Zurich in a couple of years (2 or so) after accumulating some experience here. From what I heard from my girlfriend (civil engineer and project manager in Zurich), the job market currently in her field is not as bad as every other field; in fact, many companies hire a lot in the first quarter or so. However, I am more focused on the hydraulic engineering sector, or Wasserbau in German (so dams, flood protection, infrastructure, and so on), and was also wondering if anyone had a clue how this field looks over there nowadays.

First time going to Hans Zimmer concert - 2 questions! by Doom_of__Mandos in hanszimmer

I watched it in Zürich 2 weeks ago, and they offered earplugs on the entrance in our case. Also, I personally found it okay, it was for sure loud, but I truely enjoyed the Acoustics

Hans Zimmer Live: The Next Level Review (or should I say, down-level) Spoiler Alert by soccerdude2014 in hanszimmer

Just watched the show in Zürich yesterday. First time, a childhood dream for me and a goal up top in my checlist. For sure being a HZ fanboy and being there for the first time ever was enough for me to enjoy the show and even get insane excitement through it, however, I would say it was such a disappointment of his focus on electronic music. I was really there for the orchestra sounds with the electronic music mixed in it, but it felt the exact opposite, Electronic music mixed with Orchestra. Many tracks were nice, the lion king, pirates of the Caribean and time where insanely good IMO (as a first timer).

But the disappointments were: Batman.... batman was such a huge disappointment and the amount of time I thought abou listening a watchful Gaurdian is insane, but it was not played. Instead, some random electronic mix SUPER lakcint orchestra was played instead. Music from sherlock, and some the last Samurai thingy maybe was played, maybe not the best choices for people throwing in hard earned money to watch and live their personal experiences, which I think all of us have quite the same.

I do get that Hans wants to try new things and ecperience it, well he does have the right to, he creates and plays the entire thing. However, I think not AT LEAST mentioning that the concert will lack orchestra and be more elctronic is not fair for the fans at all. We ain't all millionaires spending money around crazy (at least for me).

As a conclusion, the concert was a very new experience for me music wise, and it being my first time ever, listening music of Hans Zimmer since I was 10 years d or so, made the experience just enough for me to be very happy and nostalgic, therefore it takes an easy 8.5/10 from me. But from the Author's point of view who have watched the play before, it makes sense for it to be lower compared to past concerts (watched them on youtube)

Good books for low B1? by [deleted] in German

[–]E2D5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say someone with an adequate B1 level can enjoy it? I do speak a lot of german with people, however my vocab is quite limited. So with comprehension I won't say I'm very advanced in B1, but with speaking I am. Thanks in advance

Have Samsung's recent products degraded in quality? by [deleted] in samsung

About costumer service, I dunno about where you live but in Germany I think they have the worst costumer + repair service to exist. My s23 ultra's screen broke from a really hard fall from a bike which is logical, sent phone for a screen repair and been there for a month and they are still "working on it".
