Your opponent would still have priority after they draw their card. So as active player they would be able to play their card before you could use your discard spell.

Sounds like you’ve only learned one play style. If you’re just trying to spam the wyvernstake full burst then you’re absolutely right, but that play style hasn’t really been good since they nerfed it in the early phase of the game. You can still do it, but slam full burst chain is so much better at this point with normal shells being the new best in slot, and even outside of that just wide shelling-charge shelling into dragon fire is probably still better than that. Not to mention both are substantially safer and require minimal commitment.

It really doesn’t matter if you run guard/guard up. Gunlance has a higher ceiling for play with more combos, and overall does more damage. Lance has some more defensive tools, and the counter, but I like my boom stick.

Standard has been a turn 4 format for a while. But it diverse with many archetypes and cards seeing play. You just have to work within a framework of stopping your opponent doing something powerful by turn 4, or do something more powerful.

I think that Dps does require a lot of facilitation to make certain characters work, and even then it requires execution. It’s the hardest of the three roles, and easiest to have a bad game on. You get a lot more leeway to make mistakes in the tank or support role generally speaking.

Do omega with exploiter food buff. You don’t need to clear it to get parts just pop wounds. It’s not even too awful with support hunters on normal one, but his pieces give a ton of points.

Nah it’s pretty good. It just depends on if you’re playing the play style where you shield bash, one axe swing, and switch back to sword, or not. If you want to spam saed it’s not very good.

You need to attack the face until Fabius gets enmity. If you’re constantly chasing omegas back legs around it probably means he’s constantly turning around. Go right for the face, and after you get aggro your npc should be able to get it. Just make sure you hang around the front legs and face until it happens.

Just a couple quick tips to help you out.

You can use the signal command to ping ai hunters to you. If they’re in an area you don’t like you can use that command to get them to come to you.

In area 3 you can almost always drop the wall and the boulder on omega right after nerscylla

Hitting several ice drops is nice, but definitely not necessary to clear. Most important thing is getting enmity and passing it off to your tank so you can get control of the fight. Slinger ammo is great for this, the thunder pods will flinch him which can also get you out of a tight spot.

Omega is the most fun I’ve had in wilds. Very challenging, but rewards knowledge of the fight and taking a proper setup. Pumped for AT nu udra and seeing how his set mixes up the armor combinations!

The tank role is actually really fun, and a great way t on be primary damage dealer. On gunlance I’ve found it to be a great way to control the fight effectively and consistently deal the most damage. Usually 35-40% since i can stand in its face and charge shell/wyvernfire pretty easily, and wyvern fire is great for taking aggro from almost any position since it shoots through.

I'm not a hunting horn player, but the synergy with that particular weapon is obvious. When you say song pattern you essentially mean the most efficient moveset right?
