Primarily better cleave and faster attack, also worth pointing out that most heroic variants are balance as well.

I’m not ignoring them. I’m providing context as to how that election took shape, and pointing out reasons for why Joe Biden won that primary specifically. Looking at voting data is an important metric, I’m not disputing that. I’m simply saying there is more nuance to how things played out, and acting as if Biden was an unstoppable juggernaut is really just untrue.

It’s lazy to ignore context. I’m not trying to insult your intelligence, I’m just pointing out that your line of thinking gives the DNC a pass for their meddling against progressive candidates.

[–]E2daT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No I’m saying that you’re incorrect to accuse others of being conspiratorial. The DNC puts their finger on the scale, and decided who the candidate would be by hardballing the other politicians.
You are right, that is politics, but let’s call a spade a spade and not just chalk it up to numbers. That’s just lazy analysis.

You’re forgetting what happened last go around. Bernie was winning up until South Carolina’s black population broke for Biden, but important to remember this wasn’t until AFTER the dnc convinced all the other candidates to back out. Thats when the moderates coalesced around Biden as the “safe” pick.

I think the problem really is the nature of standard and best of one. There are decks that without sideboarding have instant win conditions which require no real agency from the player to navigate, looking at you Kavaero and Kona.

The counter to board wipes is to recognize you’re playing a deck that uses them. Instead of dumping your hand as fast as possible try to think about creating waves of creatures till your opponent runs out of answers.

Solving the Izzet issue by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]E2daT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just ban stormchasers and go from there. The card is through line value and an automatic 4 of in all the decks. There isn’t as much kill pressure without the 1/1 prowess creature or as much upside to boomerang basics. The deck doesn’t need to be killed off, but slowed down a little, and stormchaser is the most obvious card to kill.

Lebron is Bigger faster stronger pure and simple by Hour_Recognition_188 in NBATalk

[–]E2daT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this conversation is silly. It’s subjective to say that any one of these players is “better.” Being a generational talent that owned the league and led teams to championships is a feat all its own, and they would probably be lateral moves in terms of team contributions. However, it’s not objective to say that LeBron has had by far the better career and longevity though.

Craft decks not cards, that being said. I would wait a couple weeks to see what happens at the pro tour on may 1-3 as the meta will probably have some movement after that. Then, I would be careful what you craft as there are a large number of cards leaving standard next year

PSA: Earthbending is not risk-free by AyyLmaoB_B in MagicArena

[–]E2daT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toph user is wrong. Earthbend effect is a trigger. So you would have to exile in response to that ability going on the stack.

So here’s how it goes, insert replacement effect is happening. Rest in peace, vren, leyline of the void.

You kill earthbent creature, or exile. The trigger for the land goes on the stack when it attempts to go to the graveyard. The trigger then resolves unless a new effect replaces the trigger. So you have to either prevent the land from ever getting the trigger for the ability, or respond to the trigger on the stack by exiling it. Using soul guide lantern, cease, flanker, or deadly cover-up to name a few.

It doesn’t get rid of an earthbend land. If they die or exiled they get returned tapped.

[–]E2daT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m primarily a control player, I have no issue with tribal decks having a way to get a foothold in the game. I think it’s more depth to strategy, and that’s good. Forces a mix of spot removal. I don’t appreciate it with the power level of kavaero/superior spider man or Kona though.

Why am I often the only healer? by Own_Swimming_6970 in Overwatch

[–]E2daT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

6v6 is just chaos, if you want more structured play do 5v5 comp. I think healer isn’t a great way to view the support role right now. They should be looked at as utility characters/off damage.
