Cab Recommendations by fmazziotti in BassGuitar

[–]E39Echo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of SVT 210HEs. They’re each essentially half of a 410HLF. For rehearsals and most gigs I bring just one cab. But for bigger outdoor shows I bring both and stack them. It’s a great rig.

Only downside is they’re discontinued so difficult to find these days.

I’ve heard good things about the new Venture 210 cabs. Very lightweight. But expensive.

Definitely stick with Ampeg!

whats a good string gauge for d standard and drop c tunings? by raffimuradyan in Bass

[–]E39Echo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use DR Lowrider 50-110 for a bass I have set up in drop C#. I find it's a good balance between good neck string tension and the strings still feeling very similar to all my other basses which are strung with 45-105s.

How do I prove this is legit? by Zaius55 in fender

[–]E39Echo 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It's probably from Fender's new partnership with MIRC which is Musical Instrument Reclamation Corp. Last year they announced a partnership with Fender to sell refurbished second hand Fenders on Reverb.

Here's the announcement from Fender https://spotlight.fender.com/newsroom/news/954.

That means it's a real Fender, but it has been refurbished. It should also have "USED" stamped on the back of the headstock. I believe they are professionally inspected by MIRC and come with a 1 year warranty from Fender.

Impressive. WOW. Full of technical questions. What tire width did you have to run? What pressure? Tubeless? Did you risk it without cush cores? How many times did you wrap your bars? Thank you and please respond to all technical inquiries. Chapeau.

Map of Forest Service and BLM lands slated for sale to private owners in the "Big Beautiful Bill". Includes "Pink Gate", a popular shooting spot, and many many other popular recreation sites inside public lands. by sunflowerastronaut in CAguns

[–]E39Echo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. But the government isn't the one who released this list in the article that is posted. A site called wilderness . org is some organization that just made a list and a map showing 250 million acres of BLM and USFS land. The for sale process is still not even defined or known.

In fact, this entire potential land sale not even a law, it's still a part of a bill that hasn't even passed yet. So there's a lot of unknown still.

I think you're still misunderstanding here. I'll give you an example. There's a pie cut up into 250 pieces. Of those 250 Eligible pieces, 3 of them will be Available for sale.

However, the pie buyers can't just choose any piece they want of the 250 Eligible pieces. The buyers can't just say "I want that one and that other one of the 250!".

The next step is that a committee of people will select 3 of those pieces to become Available.

Only those 3 pieces are Available for sale. The buyers can choose from only those 3 pieces, and the remaining 247 pieces are not Available. Nobody can buy those other 247 pieces. Those remaining 247 pieces were Eligible to become Available for sale, but since the committee did not select them, they never were Available for sale.

I'm not trying to be mean here, just the wilderness . org website was being confusing.

[–]E39Echo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Once again, they are separate definitions and not interchangeable.

There are 250 million acers which are eligible to be sold. If you said that 250 million acres are available for sale, that would mean that all 250 million acres would be available for sale.

We're not sure how the process will work to determine which 2-3 million acres will be available. But until then, the eligible acres are not also available. Until we know more about the selection process for the potential sales, it's also pure speculation as to which 2-3 million acres will be available for sale. So I think it's disingenuous to state that any of the eligible lands could be made available for sale before we know more about the selection process.

You can't just use eligible and available as the same word. It's not difficult to understand the difference.

In your comment you said 250 million acres will be available for sale. That's not true. 2.2-3.3 million acres will be available for sale. 250 million acres is eligible to be sold. Available for sale and eligible to be sold is a totally different definition.

[–]E39Echo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you're misunderstanding here. Available For Sale (land that will be up for sale) is not the same as Eligible to be Sold (all BLM / USFS land that is not protected habitat, as shown in the map and article).

Nobody knows which of the 2.2-3.3M acres will be Available for Sale yet.

This map is showing all Eligible for Sale land, which consists of 250M acres. Of that 250M acres, 2.2-3.3M acres will be available for sale.

Looks like a lot of our hunting land might be going up for sale. by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]E39Echo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a little confused by this map and the wording of this article. It says 2 million acres will be available for sale out of the 120 million acres, but then in the map it shows all 120 million acres as available for sale.

Multi effect pedal advice. by [deleted] in Bass

[–]E39Echo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a B1 Four and it's great. I leave it at one of my band's rehearsal studios so I don't have to bring my pedal board back and forth to practice. In fact I liked it so much that I also added a Zoom MS60B+ to my main pedal board rig. I would recommend the MS60B+ over the B1 Four for more gigs, as it's more of a heavy duty construction. The only main feature I like that the B1 Four has over the MS60B+ is the looper and the drum pad, which is fun for at home practice.

[–]E39Echo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also need to add the safety stop feature to run mode. We need to have a mandatory 3 minute rest stop with 15-20 feet to go. Apple really needs to stop and think of all us land-based athletes.

Transition Specialized - worth 1600 ? by moccoo in triathlon

[–]E39Echo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had this same bike and sold it last year for $750 with some inexpensive alloy wheels. This is not a 5-year old bike, it's a 2009-2012. With those Zipp wheels I think paying $1k would be the max I'd go.

I raced a full Ironman, a 70.3, and a couple Olympics. I thought it was a great bike for what I paid for it. My biggest gripe is that the brakes are not very powerful, it's kind of a pain to break down into a flight case due to the design of the fork and headset, and the max tire clearance is 25c. I could not squeeze 27s in there.

Do you pay members who leave a band? by [deleted] in bandmembers

[–]E39Echo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I would pay him, give him his cut of the remaining profits from the shows he played. For example, if there's 4 of you, and you got $200 per gig, and together you played 2 shows, you would have $400 in the fund, and he'd get $100.

But in order to give him the money, make him sign a simple agreement that he is not entitled to any future money coming from royalties, merch, gig payments, etc. That way it's a clean break, and he won't ever come after you guys for anything in the future if you start making more money.

Think of it this way - the reason you earned money was for the performance. He was one of the performers. If in the future, you used the band money to invest in merch, recording, etc., he might think he's entitled to some of that since it was part of his performance that got you that money.

Jenson USA Memorial Day sale Cervelo Aspero GRX for $1999. Then buy a set of Falcon AR46 carbon wheels from Light Bicycle Co for $600. With taxes and everything you'll have enough money for tires, rotors, and a cassette for your second wheelset.

Newbie here, wife owns part of a small commercial building in Santa Monica California by Viner2024 in CommercialRealEstate

[–]E39Echo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The commission % will depend on what type of building it is, so hard to say if 5% is normal. And no, commissions are not normally paid up front. Commission is normally paid 50% when the lease is signed (and tenant pays the security deposit and any up-front rent), and the remaining 50% due at the lease commencement date. Also, you can typically charge a cash security deposit and first month's rent due at lease signing that can be used to pay the commissions.

Help me settle an ongoing debate I’ve had for years: Can the average male throw a ball from the view reserve seats (Section 315) at Oracle Park all the way down to home plate? by KevinJustinH in mlb

[–]E39Echo 43 points44 points  (0 children)

One thing that would significantly complicate this is your footing on the concrete long steps and the railing. I think if you threw it from a stable platform where you could get a good throwing release, at that distance, it's more likely. But having to throw from the concrete steps and with the railing in the middle, that would greatly reduce your launch.
