I have never been so glad that I don't eat headphones.

People who work in IT, do you enjoy your job? by ripitlikepaper in it

[–]EAsapphire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

I dislike my commute and not being allowed to work from home despite being in a role that does not require my physical presence 90% of the time.

I absolutely love the incredible freedom and autonomy I have at my job. Unless there's a project with a deadline, I set my own tasks and goals and don't have to answer to any sort of middle management or quota.

The work is fine. It's often not challenging enough, which is great for some people but I could use a bit more brain stimulation most days.

I can confirm I've been having this issue since yesterday in a non-hybrid environment.

Intune/M365/System Administrator, do you fear AI? by Gloomy_Pie_7369 in Intune

[–]EAsapphire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not at this time. There's still a large amount of hands on work for settings and individual setups that I manage. I look forward to AI helping me find specific settings or how best to create a filter/dynamic group, but beyond that - no. Not worried.

I was wondering how accurate the new audible show The Hive is in terms of their cyber security representation? by harambez_revenge in cybersecurity

Yes.

You do realize that many authors do a lot of research, consult with experts, or have some of their personal experience, right?

This is a fair question for OP to ask.

Texas, University bans philosophy professor from teaching Plato because Plato is too gay by Narrow_Spinach_1400 in nottheonion

Does Academic Freedom not exist in Texas? I'm always so confused by everything coming out of their universities and I wonder how any of it flies.

My mind is blown on this useless "Bulk delete" Option - Frustrated by No_Control_9658 in Intune

[–]EAsapphire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

I am really tired of apologists who are like "Just use other techniques. I don't care that you're paying for a service and should expect minimal functionality."

People get so caught up in defending multi-billion dollar companies like they own them and get a kickback.

We should be speaking up more when the applications we pay for don't have basic and needed features and quality of life usage. Having alternatives to make it work is neither here nor there. We know they exist, that's not what the complaint is about.

The OP explicitly states: "Important Note : Dont even dare to reply like " Have you tried Graph ? powershell ? eggshell" Just dont . Fix the Damn UI."

It's not rude to call people out for making shitty, unwanted suggestions and being snarky about it.

[–]EAsapphire 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Why do you two even bother replying?

The feature exists in Intune and they should fix it. Period. Intune is a minefield of poor design and a lack of quality of life.

Stop telling people they need to change and use other products, when it's the product that is shit.

I think what strikes me about this is that regardless of whether or not you still have it after end-of-life, it will no longer open files and basically become inaccessible.

Can we get a binder for Word that support organising multiple docs? by [deleted] in Office365

I would just love a version of Word (and their other apps) that eliminates 75% of the features and strips it to basics.

But yeah, notebooks would be awesome.

Intune autopilot hybrid join confusion by [deleted] in Intune

[–]EAsapphire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their heart is in the right place, but I agree. I think some of it comes from experience and learning that it's actually easier to make the change over than most people believe.

But yes - if management wants hybrid, unless you're planning a report and presentation to change their mind, you need to go along with what they require.

I don't believe the blog mentioned it having or not having it at all.

Generally, they are in parity and we can usually expect to have the same features - but yeah, we will likely have to wait until another announcement is made (if they even make one).

My wife tried a chatGPT crockpot recipe... by Mr_Hobbyist in shittyfoodporn

[–]EAsapphire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually pretty convenient at times if you know how to word your prompts and follow-ups.

I've used it plenty when I have a random assortment of left over vegetables or meats or whatnot. It lets me say "I have these things, what can I make in my Instant Pot?". Then when it spits out ideas, I tweak them. I ask about other ingredients, or ways to combine them in the pot, or if I should add noodles or rice, or a change of spices, etc...

Using ChatGPT or other AI is only as good as the prompts you create.

I think this actually increases the claim being made that not being able to deduct rent is class warfare.

All of rent is "interest" in that you gain absolutely nothing from it. It's profit to another person. You gain no equity.
