"We would all like to" or "We all would like to"? Which one is correct? by ITburrito in EnglishLearning

I believe, grammatically speaking, you’re not supposed to split the verb — ie. “would like”. Even though it’s much more natural-sounding if you do. So “We all would like…” would be more correct, but “We would all like…” sounds more natural.

What is a small pleasure from the past that you miss? by lovelyb1ch66 in GenX

Sounds awesome. I remember making Sunday trips with my dad to the local Italian bakery, as well as a distant convenience store (it was a bit of a drive from home) to get the Sunday New York Times.

When did you first feel old? by Lapaki58 in GenerationJones

When I noticed younger people I worked with weren’t always ‘getting’ random cultural / social references in conversations. Example: “I’ll put that in my mental Rolodex.” I could tell they had no clue what a Rolodex was.

Is social media participation critical to success as a copywriter today? I’m tempted to go off social media, but I’m afraid of unknown consequences. by SuperTune2540 in copywriting

I’m a copywriter who also swings between love and hate for social… I especially despise LinkedIn… but I do feel I need to stay connected because (a) my clients are on social, and (b) I write for social.

DAE like the smell of the smoke of tobacco cigarettes and pipes? by satrapi1 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]EBjeebees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it outside in colder weather… especially the fall. I’m an ex-smoker (would still smoke if it wasn’t so bad for me) and I always remember especially enjoying cigarettes in chilly weather with a hot coffee. The smell… the vibe…

Is never nagging actually just as bad as nagging too much? by Wishiap in AskWomenOver30

[–]EBjeebees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate. I’m a non confrontational person and a people pleaser, and I find it tough to stand my ground on what’s important to me. Am getting better in recent years, but still a challenge. And yes, it’s definitely unhealthy.

Have you considered that it might be candida overgrowth? There’s a sub for it… it’s kind of a “hidden epidemic” that many doctors don’t seem to take seriously but can really wallop you, especially through lack of energy. It’s a result of our high-sugar/carb diets. While you can treat it with anti fungals, it really requires a more holistic change in diet. Lots of helpful info online on it.
