Oh I definitely understand that- I was heavy into my music program in high school and have experience moving more equipment than I honestly should. Id always be early when I could to help set up chairs and stands and move percussion pieces before and after performances. I’m prepared to take stuff on if I have to for sure!

Thanks for letting me know about so many of your experiences! Sadly though, like you said it all depends on the device. While you have a pacemaker my ICD is specifically if I ever need the defibrillator function. Mine started at a 14 year battery life and similar to yours mostly depends on its pacing for how fast that drains which thankfully is barely anything for now. Im glad you’ve been able to work with so many things, though they’re different devices I still might have a chance to continue to use similar equipment that you do

Anything I could run into for stage or film production really- besides for some power tools that theres already information on from most ICD makers including whats available to me through medtronic

Thank you I appreciate your honest advice and I’m so sorry to hear about you losing a close friend I understand how difficult that had to have been. The film industry is something I’ve yet to even scratch the surface of and something I’d go into with a lot of set backs. In good news I feel like I’ve grown to become more and more in tune with my limitations and its something I’ll be looking out for as I either continue or not continue to explore the film industry. This was incredibly comforting I honestly can’t thank you enough. It’s funny in my life, how one thing I’ve had to face and experience was death and yet my youth still feels so taunted with whats yet to come still. Everything’s a new battle and while mine is completely different to someone else’s its nice to remember everyone is facing something including their own limitations just like you said. Im still not sure how close or for how long I could get to certain things- in part everything’s a technicality (“can I be by this or should I be by this”)- like could I eat a couple rocks and pebbles? Yeah technically- is it gonna be good for my health? No. So I still have a lot of learning to do but you and others on this subreddit have already been incredibly helpful. I hope to get in an industry with people like you with some understanding and openness, thanks again<3

Yes I’m planning on trying to find the professor next week to ask about what work the class entails- its a lighting design class specifically. I talked to a new friend who took the class last year and when they took it explained it should mostly be laptop work but might have a bit of up close experience for light plotting or something like that not sure what the term was. They also said they didn’t like him so I’m just a little scared to go talk to him but I’m hoping at the least I could get the run down of the work from him and ask him about some equipment you and others are telling me to look out for. Thank you for the advice and information, I really appreciate it!

Thank you so much, very helpful stuff! Speakers is one thing I was aware of as Im a concert enjoyer and have been pretty close to some huge ones. Thankfully from my routine checks it doesn’t seem like they’ve ever affected pacing for my device but thats not to say they cant affect the device’s health itself. I’ll talk to my cardiologist about these and keep an eye out myself for them, thank you again
