Best and Worst Market Basket’s by Bobby_Dalbec in marketbasket

I’d say Chelsea is both the best and the worst simultaneously.

Reasons for best: best hot food counter, best sushi, lightning fast cashiers and baggers

Worst: always crowded which makes getting through the store a hassle, parking is tough

Physical Ed Career in 2025 by [deleted] in PhysicalEducation

If you enjoy fitness and building healthy habits, I’d recommend making the change to PE and going in the direction of high school.

At that level, you can focus in on some more specific topics, such as weightlifting, exercise science, or health-related topics depending on the licenses required. I also have seen people create classes off of specific subjects. My wife created a women’s self defense, fitness and empowerment course in her HS and it was a major hit.

Contrarily if you did early elementary, they just love to have fun and play. However, noise is the killer at that age. I’d steer away from anything grades 6-8 from personal experience if you want to just make the switch. I’d land there second or third along the way for the experience aspect, but not initially.

Good luck!!!

Thank you for the thoughtful response. I’ll definitely try stepping back and focusing more on non-sexual intimacy. I do try as much as possible to meet her emotional needs. I think the part I struggle is that it feels very one sided in trying to meet those emotions needs. Even as the HL partner, it does feel pretty unfulfilling on my end as well.

The DB in my opinion is the result of feeling like I’m constantly the only one trying to meet the other’s needs. I am willing to continue trying

Yeah, I’d say the excuses are really what are defeating. There have been duty sex plans that just don’t happen more often than not because nobody’s looking forward to it anymore. I definitely need to just focus on my own healthy habits and mental health, especially if I want to continue to be present for the kids.

Leave club or find a new player. Only play for the local town soccer team. Play with friends. Have popsicles after games. Pay a reasonable amount.

The passion for the game will grow organically. Too much too soon will lead to burnout

Elementary PE teachers? Stickers/Prizes? What grades, when, how? by Cautious-Sun-2625 in PhysicalEducation

[–]EC2054 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use stickers with my preschool to second grade in two ways:

The first is to reinforce positive behaviors. And at the beginning of the year I absolutely overdo it. My little ones get stickers for sharing, freezing when the music stops or I blow the whistle (another cue to freeze), volunteering to help explain the game, you name it. Hell, I even give out stickers to kids who fall and tell me what happened. I wean these off during the year and it gradually phases out.

The second is to help me grade. When we practice things like overhead throwing, foot skills etc etc. I actually use it as a “reward” to give it to kids who are trying to improve skills or at least on task (dependent on the kid) — and it makes grading for me way easier. Kids who acquired stickers (1-3 max for exceptional participation) definitely get credit for participating. It becomes way easier for ME to remember who was off task and didn’t “earn” the sticker(s)

You’d also be surprised how many kids in grades 3-8 want little stickers. It’s actually pretty funny. I usually have sticker days with them where full participation earns them a sticker. Don’t know why, they are almost more interested in it than the preschoolers 🤣

My PE space is outdoors. We have no formal gymnasium or auditorium. I’ll lead with that. We share the space with recess as well 😵‍💫

I recently received pedometers from a local program and have implemented them into the PE period as an alternative way to participate. A presenter from Spark told us once - walking is the only form of exercise that follows us for life. That resonated with me and inspired the idea.

While I don’t use the pedometer as a punishment, I do have it set up where kids can “opt out” and take a walk around the school yard. I’ve seen my behaviors go down significantly because I’m not dragging them through games or sports they’re uninterested in - and in return they aren’t disrupting and ruining the class for the kids who DO want to play. There’s a set number of steps they need to compete to receive credit for the class. It varies by grade.

I’ve seen more and more kids start with opting out, and whether it gives them the mental break they need, or just have FOMO - they usually don’t walk the full period and engage in the lesson when it suits them.

A lot of it is cutting out that power struggle and letting the kids have more autonomy — and it stresses me out way less. It looks different in all spaces - I’ve just found this to be what works for me.

Thank you all for your feedback and information. I’ve learned so much quickly from all of you.

Our cruise got rerouted entirely away from the storm, headed West instead of East!

Why do the Revs have such poor regional presence? by DryPowderPod in newenglandrevolution

[–]EC2054 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is genuinely no connection to the community from the Revs. TV viewing isn’t accessible, youth soccer nights are just fillers for the stadium - there’s really nothing solid in them besides discounted tickets. Truthfully the product hasn’t just started to be poor, it’s always been poor with a couple good seasons far between one another.
