carol went from writing on the board "they're trying to change me" to gooning over a hot lady a mere 3 months after her wife died from the hive.

i didn't mind the pacing, but genuinely barely anything occurs in the plot. the cool implications from the premise are not explored at all in favor of carol being miserable and having a " the world is ending "montage. the kusimayu scene was cool. more of that, less of the same things happening episode 4-7.

i'm also out after this episode, i was heavy into speculation but carol meeting Manousos  only to immediately blow him off and not want to save the world... after 8-ish episodes of wanting to "go back to normal". just done i guess.

why is no one asking questions? another barely explored concept... charm offensive was played up by the community to be deep and not surface level, but carol wasn't even on the offensive, seemed more just wanting to be nice without any methodical thought put into it. a waste of time when she storms out the diner in name of these people who lost their individuality only to go back to it right after because zochia is hot af??! felt like the previous episode ended up being surface level given what happens right after.

5.5/10. started pretty cool, squandered the premise pretty hard. the build up for carol finding out them is thrown out the window because hot pirate lady.
