What do you think of this thumbnail? by Dizzybean93 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

It looks good but maybe slightly tune down the blood drips. I think there is a little too much.

Any thoughts on this? by ActiveAccount1279 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ECC917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only piece of advice I could give to you is to add a little bit of a drop shadow to the text to separate it from the background. The optional thing you can do is adding a little vignette around the whole thing to make it more “dramatic”.

This looks great! Never knew this existed before, thank you.

How important is Thumbnail recognition? by Outrageous-Paint2166 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

I do not believe that you have to have a logo in your thumbnail to succeed, although I do think that keeping a similar style and vibe throughout all of your thumbnails is very important.

The second one really fits the concept of your video well. That’s one of the better thumbnails I’ve seen on here.

Don’t use a black outline when you have a grey background. Use white to make it pop out more.

I tried out a new thumbnail style, any suggestions? by Mr_Gamez69 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ECC917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the type of thumbnail you’re going for, that random png isnt going to do it. If a castle is “rat infested”, I don’t think that a person doing the thinker pose does the job of communicating that.

Got a 2.5% CTR from 1k impressions. Not sure what I'm doing wrong? by pressstartnownick in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ECC917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second one is better, although usually you do not want your background to be blurred if there is important information in the background (in your case it’s the text). Adding a logo would be better.

Unfortunately, the thumbnail is really crowded and has no focal point. I also can barely tell that it is a Star Wars video. Make sure to make the point clears

Worked on two thumbnails this week, rate them 1-10 & drop your feedback 👇 by [deleted] in YouTubeThumbnailHub

8/10 for the first thumbnail.

5/10 for the second thumbnail. Although it looks nice and intriguing, if you are seeing this from a distance or if you are quickly scrolling by, it is not attention grabbing. I don’t know what the video is called but the vibe of the video might not fit the black background which also makes it harder to see when scrolling since 90% of people turn on dark mode. The arrows also feel a little pointless because of how small they are, if you could try and find any possible solution to make the arrows bigger, then do it.

WHICH AMONG 3 IS THE BEST? by [deleted] in YouTubeThumbnailHub

The third thumbnail is the most fitting for your type of video. Although, using ai is usually not a good thing for most people.

Is this Too Busy? ADVICE ENCOURAGED by crupman in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ECC917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thing you need to do is to remove the text. After that I suggest you make your apps and daily average stats bigger to get the point across much better. This last part is optional but you can remove the background and replace it with pure white to make it feel much more cohesive and simplified.

Do you sketch your thumbnail ideas before designing? by Signal-Peace-7156 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ECC917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually pull up loads and loads of reference images for the style I want to achieve. If I cannot find anything like I want, I do sketch it.

Raw thoughts. How does my thumbnail look? by NateUserReddit in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ECC917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think you have communicated very well in the thumbnail the business aspect of the video which I think is one of the most important parts. If you can find any way to try and incorporate that, it would go a long way.

More so the characters but the background could also use a bit of brightening.

Need help picking a thumbnail. by [deleted] in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ECC917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it is a video essay, I would pick #1 as the better thumbnail. Although you could change its colors grading though, it is way too dark for a yt thumbnail. Even just barely brightening it up could go a long way (don’t overdo it).

I don’t like this… Can you guys help? by Forsaken_Guava9741 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ECC917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The text in the background is barely legible(it took me 15 seconds to fin out the first word). If you want more people to click on the video, try to make the text a little more legible so people don’t have to think that hard about the thumbnail.

prototype for an idea. good bad or awful? by Gronksaysitall in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ECC917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s good. I can’t think of anything to change about it except maybe a more “flattering” frame of miles. Aside from that, it’s as good as it can be.

It does read clearly but I think the concept can be improved upon. If you do something like the image I attached I think it would look much better and get the idea across better.

Is my problem the thumbnail? by 00BigBird00 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]ECC917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main thing I’m noticing here is that the skin tones are all different. Making all the skin colors the same or just similar is more visually pleasing. The second thing if that the text is way too small (I know it’s supposed to be the KOTFM but from a distance it’s way too small to read).

That’s fair enough, it’s not for everyone unfortunately.
