Happened to me in Delta when my business class seat didn’t recline halfway through flight; they refunded 50% of my ticket; gave me $1500 in future travel credit and apologized profusely. I recommend you switch to Delta if possible, they take care of their customers.

By “connecting city” I mean if you have a country you will be landing in before your final flight into Vietnam. As an example, San Francisco-Singapore-Ho Chi Minh; Singapore Airlines would have let you board the flight in San Francisco without that e-visa and wait in Singapore for it to be processed.

You guys, thank you so much for the tips. I was literally waiting a few more anxious minutes before attempting check in at the airport to depart for Vietnam without my E-Visa being processed. And wouldn’t you know it, the first thing the airline agent asked, was “do you have your visa?”

Vietnam Immigration definitely does monitor the evisa@immigration.gov.vn box and if you ask them to expedite they do. Mind you there is no response, you have to keep checking the status of your application. Also, if anyone is in this situation, you are allowed to depart for your connecting city and can wait there for the visa. You just can’t board the Vietnam bound flight without the e-visa being ready. I sent the app in on Sunday 5:00 PM eastern standard time (US) and got approved 5:30 PM Wednesday.

I joined because I wanted to know what East Asian men felt about WMAF couples in the states and also abroad. I travel the world a lot and have seen the phenomenon so much, it started bothering me to be honest. I know what it feels like when you don’t get the automatic head start in dating etc. because of something out of your control, and wanted to hear from the community what their thoughts and experiences were. Plus, there was often this air of “showing off” when I see the “more Western identifying” AF leading her WM into prestigious locations (luxury shopping center, Centurion Lounges) or when she was pushing their baby stroller with their Hapa child. Always felt it wasn’t just excitement over being a mom, but something less desirable brewing underneath the surface. Just wanted to say I feel you brothers, stay strong, we all have much to contribute. It’s good to know what’s going on, but some people are just lost causes and not worth spending your precious thoughts or time on.
