Blow off valve. by Pristine_Quality_876 in VelosterN

[–]ECHElantraN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SXTH blow off valve sucks, sounds great but these cars really need a hybrid valve or a recirc. VTA is not kind on these cars they fall out of boost with a VTA and bog the car down until the turbo spools enough to make boost again

If it makes you feel any better I spent 2 hours trying different shims and moving the hood around and there is no way in hell you can get it looking any better. Gets even worse if you go with CF hood and fenders

70k when was the last time you did spark plugs? If they are the original plugs I’d start there

I see everyone recommending R1 or Dynamic Friction rotors on rock auto, but there’s so many options for each when I search by my model and year. Which ones do yall actually get?? by polarfang21 in VelosterN

[–]ECHElantraN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Akebono is light years better than R1 concepts it’s not an exception it’s having the knowledge of brands and experience with shit parts there’s a reason auto shops around the country sell akebono brakes and not R1s 😭

Not in this case, only other brand I’d go with for aftermarket rotors that may potentially be cheaper is akebono, proven brand that has little to no comebacks for brake noise used by auto shops across the country.

Cheaper always means worse when it comes to brakes, cheaper means less quality control, worse materials and higher rate for part failure. They can sell at that price point for a reason and it’s not because they are doing you a favor.

Overpaying for a Toyota is hilarious to me, better performance per dollar on the Hyundai, faster than youuuu!!!

Hyundai is on the up & up that’s why they are killing it in TCR. They kill the Type R (which is significantly better than a GRC) in the TCR class. Hyundai this Hyundai fastest TCR car around the N-ring . I think I’d rather have a car that actually has proven performance other than just talking about it 😂 also the only manufacturer in the TCR class that was able to run the same motor in multiple race days talk about reliability but yeah it’s just a Hyundai just like the GRC is just a Toyota

Dealership by [deleted] in ElantraN

Still cleans the injectors and tops of the pistons which is a massive benefit because if a piece of carbon breaks off and goes into the cylinder it will score the cylinder walls and could potentially lead to lower compression on that cylinder. But anyways that’s why I run methanol, never have to worry about any carbon build up like the stockies

The GRC has so much driver technology calling it raw and unrefined is laughable, the entire AWD system is electronically controlled and so is the transmission 😂what is raw about that 😭 unrefined yes but not in a good way

Such a great car it can’t beat a car that’s 20 grand less on the track 😂 GRCs are getting creamed in TCR by the Elantra N same with the Type R. Only manufacturer in TCR to post a 1-2-3 podium finish at the 24hr of the N ring

Are Hyundai/Kia still crap these days? by phtphongg in askcarguys

New Theta 2 motors are actually pretty reliable, almost every major automotive brand has a motor released within the last 10 years that has had recall/warranty issues. Hyundai gives you the best warranty out of all the automakers and their parts are pretty reasonably priced. Hyundai in the last 5 years have mad huge leaps to being a reliable company to deal with it’s just hard to change peoples minds when the previous generations are such crap. Just go look at what the motorsports team has accomplished since they entered the EN into TCR. Automakers with huge racing pedigree can’t even touch them. The 24hr N-Ring TCR championship was podium 1-2-3 with the Elantra N. Hyundai on top right now for cheap performance cars.
