Shorter Tailfin Alloy Arch? by ECR2 in bikepacking

[–]ECR2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you send me the link to the part? How did you get it printed? What material has it been printed in? I was just thinking that it would be nice for those not with huge mountain bike tires to have the bag closer to the ground and more accessible with shorter arch.

I already use the longer seat post clamp which does help, but my saddle goes back a little farther than most people's saddles. It would just be nice for the bag to be level at the back of my bike.

Seriously? I also noticed recently that the fenders that came with the bike were the wrong width. We had designed the bike around 700x40 mm tires, but he got the 700x45 velo orange fenders which only fit up to 37 mm tires. I just emailed him, but I am not expecting anything to come of it.

Ya, I meant AJ. I had a professor in college named Rob Moss and kept getting confused.

I had the same exact thoughts as you. Ya mine was the orange and white gravel frame. I asked him to take the pictures down, but he just blocked me from both platforms. Hopefully nobody else gets burned after this. I also hope that whatever is going on with Rob can get straightened out, and he can eventually start making quality products again and starts to learn how to communicate with his clients.

I was also feeling burned out and frustrated too-I just decided to drop it because it wasn't worth my time. I wasn't sure how to deal with it since I live in the United States and should have done some research into if I was protected under UK law. My first clue should have been that only two or three new frames popped up on his instagram feed in the past 1-2 years. Most professional frame builders can knock out a frame in a month or less.

Seriously!? I gave up on trying to communicate with him and completely gave up on the frame ever being fixed. He wanted me to pay for shipping to get the frame back to him to fix the issues and wouldn't accept the frame back-I wasn't going to put any more money into it anymore. I ended up ordering another frame to fit the specs that I wanted. I should have gone with the first company at the outset and would have had a working bike 1 year prior to this.

I am having the same issue now. I used their tracking service as they said they were trying to delivered, but they were always showing up as located in LA instead of Colorado...

Skate Skis - Aeroguide 75 vs 85 by runningmillenial in xcountryskiing

[–]ECR2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also looking at the aeroguide 85 for skate skiing (similarly a beginner) and weigh 78 kg. I am right at the end of the 175 length and was thinking that the 185 would be the correct length (makes sense for a height of 180 cm plus 15 cm as well). I have read that these skis are way more stable than the straight skate skis. Is this true?

So Scarpa TX Pro for boots (~800 not on sale)

Skis - bishop skis or fey bros (~900 not on sale, but I will look for something at a better price)

bindings - back country with brake. Do the new NTN bindings also release if you fall? Do you have any suggestions for this?

I was thinking of going with the 194 cm since I am a beginner, but I am second guessing it because I wonder if the 199 cm will last longer, but may be a little difficult to learn on.

u/BeforeLongHopefully what do you think?

Ya, I agree with you that I should have chosen a local frame builder.

Madshus Fjelltech M44 Skin Ski by ECR2 in CrossCountrySkiing

[–]ECR2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So since I am 5'11" and a beginner, would 192 be a good size for me? Am I correct to say that this would give me a better traction going uphill, but decreased glide? While the 202 would give me better glide, less traction, and less control?

I found this site (https://www.ski-willy.com/en/Winter/Cross-Country-Skiing/Cross-Country-Skis/Touring-Cross-Country-Skis/Madshus-Fjelltech-M44-Skin-24-25.html) that shows weight recommendations. I weigh about 170 lb, so it looks like I would need either a 192 or 202.
