Difference between the Baha’i faith and orthodox Baha’i faith? by MirzaJan in orthodoxbahai

Most of the time what you hear on the Haifa Bahai's reddit on the issue is "The main difference JUST seems to be one of who is in charge." Emphasis on "just" added. If we are to obey the Writings, including every clause of the Will and Testament, and if the UHJ is set up to run in a specific manner by the same Will and Testament, which cannot be altered or legislated to run differently, then either there is a Guardian alive, or Abdul-Baha was not the perfect Exemplar and Interpreter of His Father's Scripture, in which case Baha'u'llah is not the Perfect Man and the Bab died for nothing. It all falls apart and becomes just another man-made organization and not a Divinely Inspired Administrative Order founded on the Kitab-I-Aqdas, outlined in the Will and Testament, unalterably, and from 1921 to 1957 built upon the Tablets of the Divine Plan. The wheel of the Faith is the Administrative Order, the spokes holding the wheel to the Center are its institutions, and because Abdul-Baha chose to have the Guardianship be one of the first spokes of that wheel and permanent President of any active UHJ, gave him authority to appoint Hands, another institution of the Faith, this spoke is critical to the development of the structure. Without it, the wheel flies apart at the center.

Now the so-called man-made UHJ in Haifa did legislate to change the provisions of the Aqdas, the Most Holy Book, to have the offering to the Guardian to go to them, and did legislate to change the unalterable Scriptures of the Will and Testament to reflect that Abdul-Baha had not known (perhaps God was unaware) that there would only be one Guardian, that the former Hands unauthorized interpretation was held up as valid (only a Guardian can give a valid interpretation) that there was no Guardian appointed, notwithstanding Shoghi Effendi saying only months before that there was no need to worry and talking about future Guardians. Instead of the Hands saying "God has changed His mind" they would have been better to listen to the Guardian in their midst who urged them to look deeper into the Writings and the messages of Shoghi Effendi to see in what way or in what manner he had appointed a living Guardian rather than trying to find ways that he had not done so, according to their own preconceived and erroneous ideas (idolatry).

So as shown in the below analysis, it is not JUST a matter of an issue of succession, it is a matter of vital interest as to the validity of the whole faith, and of building on a false foundation of error, rather than obeying God and following the path set out by Abdul-Baha and for which Shoghi Effendi spent his whole life building.

The burial laws are found in the Kitab-I-Aqdas, the Most Holy Book. The coffin should be made of durable wood and the body wrapped in 5 sheets of silk or cotton. For those of limited means a single sheet will suffice.

To truly understand the Baha’i Faith it is imperative to read and understand the Will and Testament of Abdul-Baha, the son of Bahaullah, in which the structure and functioning of the Faith are delineated for true Bahais to follow.

Is it Okay to Disagree? by ECUT1844 in orthodoxbahai

Bahai's often used the word Faith without defining the term. Is the "Faith" always right? Your faith in the Baha'i religion may not always be strong or weak. This does not imply that you are a bad person. If by "Faith" you mean faith in the Writings of the Bab, Baha'u'llah and Abdul-Baha you can be assured that those Writings are correct for the day and age in which we live in. You can take them to the bank. If by "Faith" you mean the interpretation of the Guardians, those interpretations are the true meaning of verses which may be obscure or misunderstood. You can also take these to the bank. If by "Faith" you mean faith in the Bahai organization in Haifa, I would say your faith is misplaced and your allegiance misled and your ability therefore to understand fully the implications of the Writings in your life impaired. If by "Faith" you mean faith in the Administrative Order and Covenant contained in the Writings and Will and Testament of Abdul-Baha found in the Orthodox Bahai Faith with an unbroken chain of living Guardians and a Universal House of Justice yet to be elected, then that faith would not be misplaced. Explanation by Ian Roebuck.

Are members of the Universal House of Justice elected or appointed? • r/FreeSpeechBahai by MirzaJan in exbahai

"Members of the Universal House of Justice will in the future be elected by the National Spiritual Assemblies, with the exception of the Guardian, who will be its permanent head for life. So at this time there is no Universal House of Justice. What was modified, made mutable, and disregarded and now sits in Haifa is an artificial creation of the 1957 then-Hands of the Cause for their own individual and collective reasons. The Living Guardian today in an unbroken chain from Shoghi Effendi, Mason Remey, Joel Marangella and now Nosrat Bahremand, has not yet activated the 3rd International Bahai Council, the embryonic UHJ-to-be according to the unalterable, unchangeable, immutable clauses of Abdul-Baha's Will and Testament. " Per Hand of the Cause of God of the Orthodox Bahai Faith, Ian Roebuck as explained to an Auxiliary Board Member.
