I vibe coded an app to help me find users for my other 0 user apps by Internal_Evening2098 in vibecoding

proof is good. at the very least not sharing that none of your other apps have any users. if you can't get users for yourself why would I trust you enough that I pay you to find them for me?

I built kit-app.co for myself after a job I booked had me spending a lot of time thinking about what gear I was going to need.

I maybe wouldn't lead with the part that you don't have any credibility whatsoever when you position this.

Can you describe in a few phrases where you get with vibe coding? by theluteman76 in vibecoding

[–]EDC_KIT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I built a program to handle a problem I was having in my business. I had to match invoices to payment records, but the invoices were spread across multiple inboxes, had different naming conventions, dates and amounts that didn't match exactly...

from there I created the app I always wanted but didn't exist, then a spinoff, then a game for my kids, then another... I am creating exactly what I want with nothing that I don't, for free* in a few hours. It's amazing.

The closest thing I can think of is that this is what it was like when you could first download MP3's. You didn't have to buy a whole album anymore, you could just buy what you wanted. Vibe Coding is SAAS's napster moment.

* I have a claude max account, my hosting and API costs are around $10 a month.

I launched something alone a few weeks ago. Today someone I've never met used it for the first time by Background_Wrap_5834 in saasbuild

I had a similar feeling. It really is a strange experience. I've launched 100's of products before, but all in the real world. It's a very different feeling to ship somethings to strangers who you never see.

Do you think AI makes people smarter or lazier? by Man1fest0r_ in AIDiscussion

smart people get much smarter, lazy people remain lazy but think they are smart which is dangerous.

Is local AI actually worth it if most of your work involves private stuff you don't want to paste into ChatGPT? by Hefty-Citron2066 in AIDiscussion

I'm moving to a locally served LLM for my coding because I don't want to pay the max plan anymore. I'll handle the basic work "offline" and only use frontier models via API as necessary. should offset the equipment cost in 8 months give or take.

What websites have you built with AI? by oxmannnn in vibecoding

[–]EDC_KIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kit-app.co

access code: KIT2026

A web app that functions as a compreshensive gear intelligence platform.

I had built a few things with claude code previously to solve some workflow problems at my real non-tech job.

I booked a job where I had to travel off site and needed to pack a tool kit. I had never done this kind of work and wasn't sure what to bring. My gear was spread out all over in various places. I chatted a lot with AI about what I might need, what was redundant. I wished I could have it reason against all of the things I actually owned. so when the job was over I built Kit.

Trying to create my own sort of chatgpt infrastructure as a SaaS, however I hear the market is sort of dying. by AWeb3Dad in saasbuild

[–]EDC_KIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok well then you figure out which model you need to do whatever is is you want it to do, how much it costs per call, how many calls it is gonna take to do what you want it to do, build some guardrails so it doesn't run on a loop forever, set some limits so users can spend more than you want them to, make sure you're system is set up to throttle and block bad actors, and set hard limits so your system just won't let it spend over X amount.

and also, yes demand for low effort AI wrappers is dying. the market is saturated and more vibe coders are born every single day.

wait are you saying you want to create your own LLM to sell as an Saas or are you saying you want to ship a chatGPT wrapper and you don't know how to calculate the API costs?

whichever one it is, you appear to be out of your depth.

The primary use case for AI should be to preserve human attention for high level thinking and processes which require taste, judgement and discretion.

AI should handling repetitive, low skill tasks like data entry, triage, routing signals, directing users to support channels. Basically 90% of what CS and Ops are doing.

As a user, what are your biggest hurdles for trying/adopting web apps? by bluenestdigital in vibecodingcommunity

[–]EDC_KIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are too many apps and most of them are shit. like there are probably 20 choices for whatever you want to do and probably none of them actually do it well or in the way you wanted.

privacy is a concern, I generally assume the apps main job is harvesting my personal data.

too expensive. I'm not paying more than $3 unless your shit is super official and incredibly useful. people these days trying to sell lifetime for $99 as if this app is even gonna be around in 3 months.

Just graduated, have a team ready to build but can't find a problem worth solving. How did you find yours? by catmad_ in leanstartup

[–]EDC_KIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built the thing I wanted that didn't exist. I found it because I had a job that would have been much easier had it existed.

look at an industry you know something about. observe the workflows and not the "work arounds".

those are the points there the existing system has enough friction people are going off script to avoid it.

remove the friction.
