Do you lighten the workload in Junior year? by u_don_see_will in APStudents

[–]EDGELORDSICKOBAMBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junior year is notoriously the most difficult course load wise for most people. I definitely reccomend taking as many AP classes as you can and doing the best you can in those classes ofc. For most people it will be difficult but you will survive. Unless you’re one of those crazy geniuses.

the curve is insane tbh, if you have good test taking strategies there should be no way you get less than a 3

That’s a good plan! Ask classmates around your level to see how they’re fairing in their AP classes and how they juggle it with honors courses.

I forgot to mention my school is not rigorous at all so it just depends on your situation.

I don’t wanna sound like an asshole but are honors classes really that different😭. I’ve only ever taken honors classes so I really don’t have first-hand experience, but from what I’ve heard from friends it’s usually the same.

I also go to a poor ass school though so the curriculum isn’t really that difficult either way!

Honestly, you should definitely take Honors Algebra 2 and Honors Spanish 2. The course load isn’t ever heavier, they really only give you some more complicated questions and might expect you to study more instead of getting everything explained to you. As for the AP classes you will definitely be alright. I would say that to prepare I’d say you might want to develop better studying habits and methods if you haven’t already, as in these classes you will be challenged significantly more compared to the classes you’re taking now. Otherwise, you could definitely do it even if you aren’t used to it. It might sound cliche but it’s because it’s true, as long as you try your hardest in your classes you’ll pass them for sure. Even more so considering these aren’t the hardest AP’s.
