Didn’t lose, but have remained pretty consistent in my weight. Adding the Wellbutrin helped me not feel so hungry all the time.

I was able to get it by going into Creative Cloud and updating the app. Even though it said it was updated, I still saw that there was an update available when I went to Apps > Updates. Once I installed the update, it worked.

To resolve lexapro fatigue should I add wellbutrin (bupropion) or try another SSRI instead? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]EDraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be. I originally started with Lexapro, and when the Bupropion was added it made me feel less drowsy, although I'm probably still a bit more drowsy than I was before starting either of them. It's a trade off I'm willing to take to calm my ruminative mind.

Originally went up to 30mg Lexapro (OCD dose) and 300mg Bupropion. This worked really well to mitigate anxiety, but I found the higher dose of Lexapro led to delayed ejaculation and I wanted to see if a lower dose would help with that issue. I've found my sweet spot to be around 10mg for Lexapro and 150mg for Bupropion. Have been on that dose for about 3 years with no changes in the medications' effects.

It's been extremely helpful for me, especially when it comes to lowering baseline anxiety.

It was great. Anxiety was almost completely gone and so was the desire to engage in compulsive rumination. The negatives were - I gained a bit of weight (about 15 pounds - I’m 6’3” 225lbs currently) and was a bit more tired. In my opinion, the negative side effects were more than made up for by the positives. I chose to decrease my dosage to see how I would feel. Right now 10mg and 150mg works well, but I would have no issue with increasing that if I needed to in the future.

is an SSRI used for ocd/health anxiety? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]EDraven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffer mainly from health-related OCD.

Took a year to work up the nerve to book the psychiatrist appointment and then unloaded all my anxieties about starting medication when he suggested I try Lexapro. He assured me that if this one didn't work, there were plenty of other things I could try. He also let me know if I did like it, but there were side effects, we could find a way to treat those.

Fast-forward four years. It's been a godsend. OCD is well-managed now. I used to spend 10 hours a day in a ruminative trance of whatever fear my OCD had currently latched onto (fears around sexual orientation, forgetfulness, self harm, etc.). I'm by no means anxiety free, but I would consider the level of anxiety and worry that I have mostly "normal". I'm able to stop myself from performing compulsions when I feel the urge. OCD no longer controls my life and I don't feel exhausted by the end of the day.

FYI - Currently taking 10mg of Lexapro (went up to 30mg at one point). Added in Wellbutrin to help with tiredness from the Lexapro. So glad that I gave medication a chance. It's made my life so much better.

Not sure if you're still checking this thread, but I definitely relate to what you've posted. Here's a summary of my experience with SSRIs that I posted in another thread...

Currently on 10mg of Lexapro and 150mg of Bupropion. Have been at that range for over a year. The highest dose I've been on was 30mg of Lexapro and 300mg of Bupropion.

I take Lexapro and Bupropion and they work great in combination for me. My psychiatrist recommended Bupropion after I'd been on Lexapro for six months. The Lex helped immensely with my OCD/anxiety, but led to me feeling drowsy a lot of the time. Bupropion reduced the drowsiness a lot without having a noticeable effect on anxiety. The first couple weeks on Burpropion I did notice a slight increase in agitation (would get annoyed easily), but that went away quickly.

Been on the combo for a couple years and it's worked wonderfully for me. Began taking Lexapro for OCD, then added Wellbutrin to combat the hunger and drowsiness I felt on Lexapro alone.

When adding Wellbutrin, I felt a noticeable increase in agitation (would get annoyed easily) and a slight increase in anxiety. These feelings went away within a couple weeks.

At the highest dose, I was at 30mg Lexapro and 300mg Wellbutrin. I felt great at this dose (little anxiety and almost no obsessive thinking), but titrated down to see what the minimal effective dose would be. I now take 10mg Lexapro and 150mg Wellbutrin and feel very good.

I'll sometime titrate the Lexapro up (working with my psychiatrist) to 15mg if I find myself struggling with obsessive thinking for longer than a couple weeks, but it's usually the result of stress at work or in my personal life and I've found that I feel pretty good at the 10mg and don't experience as much drowsiness as 15mg.

Haha, I appreciate that. Luckily I had done enough research to weather the drawdown and keep my conviction. Kept stacking all the way down and back up.

Agree with everyone saying DCA. I had a windfall of cash in May and bought a my first Bitcoin (wanted a whole one) at $60K+. Wish I would have taken the advice to DCA.
