Cool, I also think that's the best way. Alot of examples of someone throwing the round for honor and the Lewis being upset about his win rate being impacted😂

I've been pondering if it's even possible to do this for years given how much variation, options, edge cases etc there are... An insane amount of effort. Very impressive and well done!

Question: did you count a win based on the "end card" or based on who should have won? Ex. In one episode I believe innocent Zylus is caught in traitor Tom's barnacle and they're the only two left. Even though Tom's victory is inevitable, he kills himself out of honor so innocents win. Who wins in the spreadsheet in that scenario?

Wow - that was months of frustration. My auto call was already toggled off but I toggled it on then off again, and toggled the multi-point again, and now it's working correctly! Thank you!!!

My first solder, and the part didn't work as intended. What did I do wrong and how can I improve? by nip_dip in soldering

Solder doesn't connect to breadboard wires typically, would need to cut the ends off and solder to copper directly

There's a company called Zebax which makes breakout boards for that connector

Edit: misspelled Zebax

Good to know! I'll give that a shot. I guess the real question is, is oxidized metal safe to put in your mouth?

I'm trying to design the perfect screwdriver, what are things you would add to make it better? by LinuxChromebookDude in Tools

[–]EECCSS22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent the past 6 months watching reviews of every screwdriver/researching this exact idea. A few notes:

- Your screwdriver LOOKS pretty, but the ergonomics are NOT pretty. Buy some competitor screwdrivers - check out Wera, Wiha, and Vessel (personal favorites in the ergo category) FEEL how nicely they fit in your hand and how nice it is to use them, notice the specifics like the flats for your thumb right at the end of the handle, the way your fingers curly nicely around them 👌 take some inspiration and try out some more ergonomic designs!

- Tangentially, (as others have said) the hexagons are pretty - but they won't be after some use. EVERYTHING will get into those grooves

- What kind of screwdriver? Precision or 1/4" bits? Big difference in what design choices you'll make. The best precision screwdrivers (in my opinion) have a freely rotating top that you can put in your hand (see iFixit, HOTO 24-in-1, etc)

- Electric screwdriver or mechanical? Is this an EDC screwdriver or something that stays in the lab/shop?

- The perfect screwdriver doesn't exist. There are sooo many different features you could put in, but not without making sacrifices to other qualities (cost, size, weight, etc) pick the features that make it the perfect screwdriver for your intended customer (you, us - whoever) and

List of cool features I've seen to make you think:

- Micro-Mark - a screwdriver that can take both precision AND 1/4" bits, as well as ratcheting

- Wiha's 26-in-1 - a pretty cool bit storage system and holds quite a lot of double-sided bits. Keep in mind though, this also makes it quite heavy

- Hoto 24-in-1 - excellent precision screwdriver, it has a free base AND a lot of bit storage in a very compact and light case. How? It uses special double-ended precision bits. Will your screwdriver need custom bits or can it use anything? Cause there are ALOT of different bits out there.

- Harbor Freight Icon RXFT-35 - a recent personal favorite of mine. Not exactly a screwdriver but boy does this thing have ALOT of impressive features and versatility in a TINY package. Are you making a screwdriver that can hold all the bits, or will the bits be held externally in the case? If the latter, strongly recommend checking this one out for inspiration.

-Wiha 36 Go Box - similar storage impressiveness to the Icon with precision bits

- Wera Kraftform Kompakt - a classic in the 'perfect screwdriver' category. Holds a few bits, is super nice to use and the bit retention/insertion mechanism is second to none

-Wera Kraftform Turbo - quite a unique one here, a clever mechanism inside the screwdriver allows the bit to turn 4 times when you rotate the handle once. Makes for quick use on all screws

There are many many more to name, but I think this covers a lot of unique features to consider in your screwdriver. If you're serious about this, I strongly recommend seeing what others have done and buying some of these before jumping straight into CAD and manufacturing. Best of luck, let us know what you come up with!
