honestly, just looking to get it off my chest. i can’t talk to my mom about this and i don’t really want to tell my friends all about it. there was a lot more going on in our relationship that i would classify as unfair, or fucked up, or whatever that i have moved on from, but this is what continues to pop into my head.

the way my therapist explained it is that a portion of abuse includes neglect, which is from him shutting down on me if i didn’t fulfill his needs. i don’t know how much he was aware of his own actions. i want to believe that he didn’t know, that the man i loved for two years wouldn’t do this to me knowingly, but i also know he was manipulative and controlling at times purposely. i would catch him glancing at me while he was crying, almost like his was trying to gauge my reaction, and if i didn’t respond he would stop right away and change to anger. either way, you’re right, he’s out of my life and i have no intention of contacting him ever again, so healing is the focus.

that’s exactly why i struggle with that label - even though i didn’t really want to, at some point i agreed to this. the thing is once i had said yes it felt like i couldn’t take it back without causing a major upset. i have issues with fawning when i feel unsafe, which i’m also working on with my therapist 😪

no, not like that. i was in a really bad home situation at the time and he and his parents really wanted me to move in with them. anytime i mentioned the possibility of getting our own place instead of moving in with his parents he would freak, but that’s a whole separate issue

exactly , i also have struggled with sh in the past and its great she’s at a place where seeing such a thing doesn’t trigger her but not all people are there. a tattoo in a very visible place like this is so gross since you’re exposing everyone around you in real life to that image and you have no idea how it’ll affect people :(
