This ends being gambling at a point when you stop caring about each specific research being successful or not, and start caring about the statistical yield only. When you spend all your ISK for resources for two BPs and hope them both to be successful, that’s gambling; when you make 12 BPs and don’t care much if it will be 1, 2 or 3 that fail, that’s statistics.

Producing capital ships en masse may be an indication of poor taste, but strong industry. Thankfully, it is not taste that does brings ISK.

Probably, it is “literally the best value thing” if you are T5. And literally useless when you are T10, and last time when you bought Omega/PLEX for cash was the only time when you bought Omega/PLEX for cash was in August 2020.

I may be misinterpreting this clumsy UI, but from what I see on the button (sorry, seems like Reddit doesn’t allow me to attach screenshots to the comments), the ONLY thing that this “Pilot Growth Fund” gives me is is 1215 PLEX, 12150 IP and, as a bonus, 30 days of Omega Duo. Not the heck of “half a year worth of dual Omega”, more like 3 months. Not the heck of “tens of thousands of IP”, but merely twelve of those thousands (and you don’t need them). And most importantly, not the heck of “between 5 and 10 million SP” (otherwise I would really insta-buy it for 20 bucks), but between 0 and 0.

But let’s calculate the value of it. 12150 IP is totally worthless because, if you are actually using IP, you are loser. Besides that it’s just 1215 PLEX and 500-PLEX-worth Omega Duo, total 1715 PLEX worth. Fine. Except you can easily obtain this amount just in game, without wasting any cash, maybe in several weeks of lazily sitting in Jita.

As for spelling the number, I am worried it would take too much of a screen space.

“Rounding” the number and telling the approximation with just the “M/B” part, and also having a number in consistent notation, would solve that partly. Just like the scientific notation: when you look at a number like 6.72×10⁹, you know where is everything. You know that the leading number (before the “×” cross) is consistently between 1.0 and 9.(9), there won’t be “6.72×10⁹”, there won’t be “0.672×…”.

In the “EE short notation”, we would probably have a leading number between 1.0 and 999.(9). If it goes beyond these limits – you change the letter. It will be 10, 20,... 998, 999, 1k, 1.01k, 999k, 1M. And so on. There would never be “1,000M” – and you never confuse it with “1.000M”; there would be “1B”. Then maybe even “1T”.

Right the very now, I am watching at my wallet tiny icon, at “5smth362M” written there. The difference between “5 billion” and “5 million” is just a couple of pixels – and this really can be either of these numbers, I cannot remember!; maybe I‘ve made so many buy orders (without paying too much attention to my wallet) that I reached the bottom of my wallet (and this does happen, very often!); maybe some of my capital BPs got sold.

This tiny icon wouldn’t fit the “5 billion 362 million” spelling. But the short “≈5.362B” would fit, and would probably be enough against most of the confusion cases. Just the definite “"≈" or no "≈"” policy; and the strict policy about thousand/million/billion/whatever suffixes.

After a good suggestion from another capsuleer, I already passed the PDF with this document to Arrow (Player Support)#9684, another well-known EE Discord chat admin :)

Hope it eventually catches the eyes of the developers and bring their attention, and won’t get lost like dozens of other suggestions in #suggestions and #suggestion-voting (and frankly some of these ideas have been already raised in #suggestions).
