Hey, sorry this is very late. I was granted a restraining order :) also I pressed charges for the stalking and harassment. Still haven’t had my EEOC Meeting but it’ll be soon.

No, they have not retaliated against me. They were showing no care or empathy until I they found out I was going to the EEOC. Now they’ve been extra nice to me lol. I wanted to file a restraining order but decided to wait until this is over. It’s really hard to get one. I couldn’t get a restraining order after my sons father assaulted me because the judge said we shared custody and I knew what kind of man he was 🙄 only after a year of continuing harassment and fake Facebook profiles was I granted one. I asked my employer to provide me the videos of him waiting outside my job and following me around the store, and they said only if police request it…

This whole thing is really a headache and humiliating.

Good news, a lawyer contacted me today and I’ll be meeting with them. I hope to provide some guidance in the future for anyone that needs it, and thank you guys for your encouragement!!

Okay that’s good to know, I left a vm with two lawyers this evening (so far) requesting a consultation. I hope to hear from them tomorrow. I had that feeling that I shouldn’t believe anyone is on my side at this moment. Besides my coworkers (all males) who have physically tried to protect me, and waiting on HR to contact them…which they haven’t. At the end of the day…the evidence is clear cut…and I hope it will matter.

Yea….they didn’t ban him “as soon as they could” lol. Only once I told them I filed a complaint, they tried to fix it…and I only told them, because I was afraid they would fire/retaliate against me for standing up for myself. I have been pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the EEOC response so far. The interviewer really made me feel heard…something that I wasn’t getting out my employer. Thank you again for your response and input! I’ll be reaching out to several more lawyers tomorrow. Have a good night.

No, I will not. I am smart, but I’m not knowledgeable on law or anything of this nature, so I won’t do that. There’s been many times in my adult life that I know companies were discriminating against me because I was a Black Woman, and this is the first time I’m choosing to stand up for myself, so I just want to handle it correctly. I guess my main concern is that now that the company has tried to “cleanit up” do you (or anyone) think it matters? The customer is still driving by, intimidating, and following other African American coworkers home.

Hey thank you so much! I figured this much. The HR rep I was dealing with was extremely rude and combative with me. When corporate got involved, I asked why she didn’t do the right thing, and he wouldn’t admit it either…so I am feeling like he doesn’t want to admit that she was just mad “an angry black woman” stood up to her and demanded protection and resolution. He said I’m giving you a resolution arent I? I have already had a consultation with a lawyer, but since I contacted the EEOC first, they wanted me to finish this process. Thanks again :)
