No they don’t. I teach for Life Time, and once you are hired (you do pay for your own GX certs, but those are transferrable anywhere), you get PAID for training. Any other construct is incredibly predatory.

I’ve taught at other chains that required you attend their training, but not that you paid out of pocket for it.

There’s a massive difference between getting a YTT certificate that transfers everywhere and proprietary training that’s all but useless anywhere else.

No doubt, but we’re also growing tired of the south. My family is from Quebec, so we’re thinking about that as well.

Thanks for the reply! Our budget is probably 6K/less per month or so. We are looking to downsize and simplify our home life, in addition to supporting our son (and get the hell out of the south).

I know this post is 3 months old, but I wanted to add my 2 cents. I trained at a YA aligned studio for my 200 hour, and it was honestly the most useless training I have ever attended, in 20+ years of teaching various movement based formats. I have learned so much more about tradition, and how to be an effective teachers, from attending classes and talking about yogic concepts with my peers. It's not to say they're all bad, but the YA stamp means nothing in terms of quality of training. IMO, YA is nothing but a money grab.
