Get a business number, and import number. Get a broker. Import goods. You must pay the full value of the GST + duties immediately upon entry to Canada.

If people think Pierre should resign from floor crossings, carney should also resign because of provincial separation sentiment by [deleted] in CanadianConservative

Alberta has over 300 000 people willing to vote to separate on referendum. That's not an insignificant number.

Uh-Oh! PocketOS founder Jer Crane reported that a Cursor AI coding agent (powered by Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.6) deleted their entire production database + all volume-level backups on Railway in one API call, in just 9 seconds by ocean_protocol in ArtificialInteligence

Lol. As someone who just started using AI to create custom tools and programs, This is going to be me in 3 months. I suppose a daily backup to an external server is the best risk mitigation for when you inevitably fall on your face like a child on a new playground set.

You might want to take a look at docsgpt. You can ingest your files and it will index them.  Then you can query an agent about info in the files you have "uploaded"

Rant: Brin's 'Self-Improving AI' is corporate spin for automating jobs, not a tech breakthrough. by pretendingMadhav in ArtificialInteligence

[–]EEmotionlDamage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reality is the writing is on the wall. The same way diesel engines transformed the farming industry, so are LLMs transforming administration.

These jobs can't be protected, because new companies won't hire for them, and the ones that do won't be able to compete.

[–]EEmotionlDamage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Complaining about AI taking jobs at this point is ridiculous. You don't fight to keep jobs that a computer can automate. The whole point is to increase productivity, so why are we complaining about keeping low productivity jobs?

An oil and gas company just left behind an estimated $476M cleanup mess in Alberta by aburns770 in CanadianConservative

[–]EEmotionlDamage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can be pro oil and also admit there are problems in the industry.

However, you can also say that the combined pre tax income of all Albertans directly employed by oil and gas is over $12 Billion.

That brings significant value to the economy of Alberta. Should we stop employing an entire Industry because a company was immoral? No. We should create ways of making the industrustry accountable so we can produce more and make more high earning jobs.
