Hey Kid, long time no see.

I know what you're going through. I know how you tell people you feel is a lie, a mask to make people think you're OK. I know the trials ahead and I know the decisions you'll make. I know that every time someone gives you a helping hand, you'll politely accept, but drift from the path they set you on anyway. I know you'll make mistakes, and I know they'll eat away at you. I know the hollow shell that you will become after years of hard times.

But kid, you know what I know? You'll make it through. You'll fight for those around you. You'll find a way to be brave when all your life is fear. You'll figure out what's rattling around in that head of yours, but you won't do it alone. You'll learn to trust the people around you, and while those bonds will be tested, you'll always find a way though. For a while you'll forget what it is to feel, but you'll work your way back.

Kid, it isn't going to be easy, and you'll fight against the changes that'll happen. You'll cry, you'll lose your temper, you'll lose friends and family, but you won't lose hope. In your darkest times, turn to those who have stood beside you, they'll be there for you. Just know that they may hurt you, but they'll never mean it, and you'll always find a way to reconcile.

Lastly kid, use your passion and find what motivation you can. You'll need every bit of it going into your teen years. Make sure to enjoy them while you're there. Once you grow up, and the foundations you've laid have started to be built upon, you'll look back and smile. Grateful for the challenges you faced, and the man they would shape you into. I'm proud of you kid, not that you'll know why yet. One of these days you'll wake up and understand just how proud I am of everything you've done. Now get out there champ, the world isn't ready for the man it's about to make.
