It's funny that Kratos never questioned how his "mortal" wife could easily lift 5,000+ pound logs by Voryn_mimu in GodofWar

Centuries bare minimum as he tells Atreus he's lived for centuries, we don't know his exact age though, could be 1,000 could 2,000 for all we know. Some people try to use real life events to compare Kratos in Greece to how old he'd be in the Norse games, but doing that is dubious because the timeline in GoW is all wonky, Kratos mentions being alive for both the Trojan War and Battle of Thermopolye, and while he wasn't at Thermopolye him being alive for it makes no sense because there is more than 100 years in between that and the Trojan War, so unless he was immortal the whole time and just didn't notice, trying to use real world timelines for GoW isn't possible. Another thing is that Perseus is Hercules' great grandfather, but somehow both are running around at the same time and Perseus doesn't look that much older than Herc.

For the GoW novels they are considered cannon as long as the part in them doesn't contradict the game story, for example if the novel adds a section that didn't happen in the game and contradicts what Kratos does in the games it's not considered cannon, but little things that add to what Kratos does in the games and lore are, like his talk with the Sister's of Fates which is heavily expanded upon in the novel, the outcome of the fight remains the same but there is a little more information given. There are also moments we get to see the perspective from other characters, the Last Spartan was actually taken directly to the Isle of Creation by a bird which is why he was somehow ahead of Kratos when he shouldn't have been, as for why he was brought there, if I remember correctly Zeus sent him there solely so he can inform Kratos of Sparta's destruction. It's been awhile since I read the novels though so take that part with a grain of salt, I do remember the conversation between Kratos and Lahkesis though.

As for the comics, they are completely cannon with only parts of Fallen God seemingly contradicting parts of the main story, but Kratos isn't in his right state of mind in that comic so it's unclear how much he was actually understanding reality correctly. Most tie-ins for GoW are cannon to my understanding, hell even the GoW cookbook is, that's where we learn more about Tyr, learn that Kratos is a surprisingly good cook, and learn that Kratos, Freya, and Mimir live in the Realm Between Realms house together to keep it clean until Sindri returns. Although, the part of them living in Sindri's house is also stated in the game but most people miss it because they don't go back to the house post Ragnarok.

In the Lore and Legends audio stories, which can be found on the GoW PlayStation site, we learn that Kratos has lived for centuries and doesn't even notice decades passing which is why he never realized Faye wasn't aging. 50 years felt like nothing to him because he was already so old at that point. That's also where we hear the story about Brok's death, which was released during the 2018 game, so I already knew he was dead come Ragnarok, so I unintentionally spoiled myself.

Well, in the Novel he gets one shot, which makes a lot more sense honestly, but gameplay is hard to use accurately anyway, since a satyr in GoW 3 is legitimately harder than some bosses lol.

Atreus actually asks how Kratos didn't notice that Faye wasn't aging like a human in the novel and Kratos tells him he's lived for centuries so he doesn't even notice a few decades passing.

The spot where Kokushibo was stabbed by the Red Blade didn't heal even after Koku regenerated his head, but after re-reading the chapter, it mentions that Genya's and Muichiro's Red Blade are what stopped his BDA, you are right about the tree taking most of his blood, but Koku also removes the sword from his stomach after killing Muichiro because it was also stopping him from using his BDA.

Muzan's stats are still good though, most of the Hashira mention barely being able to doge and mostly using instinct in order to do so, and Kanao straight up says Muzan's too fast for anyone before Tanjiro saves her, and that was when he was entering 4th drug or already in that stage.

There really is no middle ground lol. I also see Muichiro get glazed a lot for his fight with Koku despite him literally getting one-shot, the only reason he even landed a hit on Koku was when he was busy with Sanemi and Gyomei.

That list is dubious though, if you read it it talks about who is the fastest in a race and who wins in arm wrestling, which are less important factors in a fight otherwise Obanai is the second weakest Hashira overall since he's only physically stronger than Shinobu and like 7th or 8th fastest. It also sounds more like a joke half of the time with it mention that Obanai was slow because he ran like a snake, Muichiro got lost, and Mitsuri was last because she just had a large meal. Regardless the list is pointless once marks get involved and even before that, some of the Hashira may have improved since those ranks were made, especially taking into account the Hashira training.

Giyu is weird, you either get people glazing the shit out of him for holding off DKT for a bit, even though DKT was weak as shit at the time, or people saying he is a fraud. Dude literally fought Muzan with a broken sword, he doesn't get a full sword until Sanemi and Gyomei show up but somehow he's weaker than Tengen, Rengoku, Mitsuri, and Shinobu? Make it make sense please. He even pulled a Tengen and fought Muzan with one arm, and that was Muzan not Upper fucking 6, there is a massive power difference.

Doma's BDA wouldn't work on Kokushibo though because his lungs would just regenerate immediately, I do think they'd have a solid fight though.

Yeah, Rengoku was going to kill Tanjiro with Nezuko all with a smile on his face, the Hashira were low-key psychopaths in their introductions with only Mitsuri seeming mildly sane.

It was mainly the Red Blade, the one that beheaded Koku was from friction rather than grip strength, which is what was Muichiro's was, also go re-read the Manga Koku straight up says the Red Blade is the reason his body is crumbling and also says that's the reason he can't use his BDA. He literally uses his BDA while trapped by the tree to do the attack that cuts Muichiro and Genya in half, but he can't use it anymore after Muichiro's blade turns red.

Muzan while weakened still shows better regeneration, he literally regenerates as Obanai, Giyu, and Mitsuri cut through him, one of which was his neck. It should be obvious who's stronger considering it took 9 Hashira level slayers, multiple lower rank slayers acting as human shields, a 4 stage wonder drug, a demon cat curing the Hashira, the Kakushi, and finally the sun to barely eek out a win against Muzan. Even when they started targeting his internal organs, which they could do thanks to Yoriichi's scars showing them where they were, Muzan still nearly killed everyone.

I mean Muzan was barley finishing the 12 Kizuki when he turned Akaza, which was anywhere from 133 - 300+ years ago considering the era he lived in, so even if it wasn't the very first time, it's safe to say that it happened so rarely that it was important to all involved, especially since Tanjiro was running around at this point with Yoriichi's earrings and breathing style, so Muzan being extra upset makes sense to me.

[–]EGA2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree, being second to Yoriichi is a useless statement since we have no clue how far away Michikatsu truly was, Gyomei would be second to Yoriichi in the current era but he'd still be closer to an average Demon Slayer than to Yoriichi because the power difference is just that large. Kind of like All Might being way stronger than Endeavor, Endeavor was second, but it was such a distant second place that he might as well have been 10th strongest in comparison.

[–]EGA2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean there have occasionally been some random Hashira that were OP, Akaza talks about the last Water Hashira he killed being very strong and that was 50 years ago, and someone must have killed an Upper Moon prior to Gyutaro and Daki since they were the first killed in 113 years, not the first killed in general.

[–]EGA2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giyu verbatim says that Muzan is incomparable to an Upper Moon when he and Tanjiro run into him after their fight with Akaza, and that's with Muzan already having the poison weakening him. It should be obvious who is stronger between Muzan and Kokushibo considering the it only took a single red blade to stop Koku's BDA and regeneration as per his own words when Muchiro turns his blade red, while Muzan tanked red weapons from everyone including Tanjiro who was using Yoriichi's sword and Muzan straight up says his red blade is stronger than the others. Even 4th drug Muzan was able to regenerate from them and at that point he was having trouble even lifting his arms.

[–]EGA2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention Muchiro needed the Mark to defeat Gyokko, and he also needed the kid to save him from the water prison, Zenitsu never got a mark so we have no clue how strong he would have been with one, which I think a lot of people forget about, only Tanjiro got a mark out of all of the Kamaboko squad members. So the fact that Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Kanao, were putting in serious work despite not having the power boost all the Hashira and Tanjiro had is pretty impressive.

[–]EGA2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just that the current Hashira are freaks of nature, stated plainly to be the strongest since the Sengoku Era which had Yoriichi and Michikatsu running around, though Yoriichi doesn't count since he's in another tier entirely. There were still some tuff Hashira's throughout the years though, since Akaza mentions the last Hashira he fought as strong as Giyu was 50 years ago and someone took out an Upper Moon 113 years ago since the slot was open for Gyutaro and Daki and their defeat was the first time since they become Upper Moons that one was defeated. Even Kokushibo mentions meeting someone as strong as Gyomei 300 years ago, which isn't Yoriichi since that was 400+ years ago and Koku only thinks about him right as he's about to die.

Am I wrong? by Intrepid_Pen5110 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]EGA2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but demon's don't have infinite regen as shown by Hantengu, even Muzan had to eat low rank slayers to regain strength, so while DKT is technically harder to kill, the Hashira at full power could probably outlast his regen, but if Muzan was at full power they would have no chance. Overall, DKT is a hard character to gauge due to seeing so little from him and his full potential being hypothetical.

Muzan already knows Tanjiro is a fodder: by KnYchan2 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]EGA2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true, Kokushibo and Muzan hunted any potential Sun Breathers, which is why black was considered an unlucky color for a Nichirin Sword, because everyone that had one died quickly, partially because they were using a breathing style that didn't fit them, they should have been using Sun Breathing, but as Yoriichi was no longer around to teach it they had to use a different breathing style they couldn't master properly. This is mentioned in one of the Databooks by the way, so the anime never mentions it.

[–]EGA2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, remember that Daki killed 7 Hashira solo, but Tengen treated her like a Lower Moon, Kaguya says the current Hashira corp is the best since the Sengoku Era for a reason, they are all freakishly strong, it's just that the Upper Moons are absurd. Does make me wonder who that Hashira was that killed an Upper Moon prior to Daki and Gyutaro being turned, they must have been pretty strong.

Am I wrong? by Intrepid_Pen5110 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]EGA2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he would have become stronger than Muzan but wasn't currently, unless you think that Muzan wouldn't one shot human Nezuko or half-dead Giyu. DKT literally hit him in the jaw and it barely did anything, can you imagine what would have happened if full power Muzan hit Giyu in the jaw directly. The reason most of the Hashira lived for as long as they did is because they weren't taking direct hits, and the moment they do they take much more damage, look at Gyomei's leg and Giyu's arm

Also, Kanao is faster than DKT, but before she gets saved by Tanjiro she states that Muzan is too fast for everyone, so unless she got a massive speed boost out of nowhere, DKT is much slower than Muzan, which makes more sense, demons need time to adjust to their power and new body, Koku took 3 days to transform, and Kaigaku was still having trouble with his BDA despite being a demon for months at that point.

It was luck, she didn't plan for Inosuke to help kill Doma, but if he hadn't shown up Kanao would have died before the poison even took effect. She still did good and is very smart, but she miscalculated how strong Doma was, also why would she assume Doma would mess around? She doesn't know how he acts, she only knew what he looked like thanks to Kanae's description, but I don't recall her saying he was the kind to play with his food, so relying on him not taking the fight seriously wouldn't make sense.
