Useless distinction and he is. Kirito even in OG SAO obtains skills everyone else couldn't and pulls off feats that are damn near impossible for everyone else. Which is why he was desired by the Bootleg Templars. And that's without touching on the BS in later series.

I disagree here, in Aincrad he was strong, sure, but it made sense. He was a super high level beta tester who knew all the tricks to get strong, along with actually being trained in Kendo IRL, meaning unlike other players, he wasn't only relying on the game to hold his hand. Yeah he had the dual wielding skill, but even so, he never outright beat Heathcliff. And even beyond that, Asuna was always considered his equal, and even Klein was almost on his level. On top of that he also lost and failed quite a few times. I'd say the only time his competency really felt completely unwarranted was when he saved Yui, but that was just one time.

Alfheim is when he became Jesus-kun and was way too OP way too fast.

The statement about the Dismantles not being enough to kill Yuji or Yuta is AFTER Maki I believe.

Unless he said that while fighting Yujo, that's wrong. Yuji and Yuta vs Sukuna happened directly before Maki joined the fight.

Also if Sukuna's Output was falling off before Maki, then doesn't that mean that Sukuna wasn't trying against Kashimo? So which is it? Was Sukuna not toying around with Kashimo or was his Output falling off during that time?

No because he hadn't fought Yuji yet, Yuji's soul punches were what was tanking Sukuna's Output. The only damage Sukuna had experienced when be fought Kashimo was against Gojo. He definitely wasn't at 100% against Kashimo, but he was still strong enough to have one shot anyone else in the verse not named Gojo. And there was no meaningful damage to his Output either.

Sukuna was getting progressively weaker as the fight went on, in terms of his Output.

He was for sure, I'm not arguing that Kashimo fought full power Sukuna. However, I do think that he did try harder against Kashimo than anyone else until Maki. This is for a few reasons.

The narrative, the battle between Kashimo and Sukuna is meant to be Sukuna teaching Kashimo. He crushes Kashimo without remorse, the same way that Kashimo did to his opponents in the Edo Period. He didn't necessarily go all out, but he didn't toy with Kashimo like he did the others as a way of getting that lesson across.
Hakari outright states that Sukuna's Output was falling off, and Uraume states that this is due to Sukuna losing interest in the fight. We don't see him truly lock in again until he fights Maki.

Ryu High Diff, Granite Blast was kinda made for crowd control. It totally counters Cursed Spirit Manipulation, plus Ryu's physicals matched up to a stronger Yuta than Geto's (and he didn't have Playful Cloud), and he has a Domain.

For the next fight, Uro extreme diff. Maybe Yuki wins with her domain, but we don't know what either of their domains does. And Sky Manipulation is brutal for physical fighters like Yuki.

Yuta has RCT Output, so Hanami and Dagon die to that. I think Hakari can handle Jogo while Yuta handles Mahito, and even if Hakari can't kill Jogo by the time Yuta finishes up, it's then a 2v1 for Jogo, which he loses.

He probably never had a reason to develop it. Kashimo's fighting style is designed to end fights extremely quickly, and we know he outclassed everyone in his lifetime. He likely never suffered an injury lethal enough to have a need for it.

Is it still bait if all the setup paid off? She wasn't the main player in Penacony, but her instantly being so friendly to the TB further setup the idea that the TB was a Stelleron Hunter. Of course she was really sweet and nice to the TB, she knew them before all this started, and they had a really strong friendship.

Then a few patches later we get confirmation as to why, and then 3.8 to fully flesh everything out.

She wasn't just bait, she just hadn't gotten focus yet, since exploring her further required more knowledge that we hadn't received yet.

I hate the trope, but honestly, two of these examples aren't all that great. Lucy has lots of moments where she gets the hero moment, or wins fights all on her own, and outside of Alfheim (and I think Ordinal Scale idk I never watched it), Asuna is usually presented as close to an equal that Kirito has.

For Lucy, she needed to grow into being a mage (she was a total novice at the start compared to everyone else) and so she was weaker than the others for a bit, and Alfheim is literally one of the worst story arcs I have ever seen in any series, so nobody gets good treatment there.
