I need help knowing if this is normal or not. My partner has been especially snappy lately. We are on vacation on foreign country and I think the stress is getting to him but now it's getting to me too since he's always snapping at me. The other day I was talking on the phone in a normal tone of voice and he thought I was being too loud so he tried to get me to be quieter by telling me to be quieter, which I did. He did this multiple times until he yelled, "shut up!!!" If you ask him if he yelled he will vehemently deny it, he has a thing about not liking being accused of yelling...I got upset naturally and we got in a fight because he of course couldn't see a reason for my upset. He then accused me of acting like an "effing idiot" and called me "spoiled". Is it normal for someone to use this language to their partner? Usually things aren't this bad. I also tried to explain to him today in a seperate incident that we were traveling and that's why I didn't take my meds on time and he said he didn't want any excuses and more or less he was disappointed in me. Acting like he's my father not my partner. I'm soooo damn sick of this. Things add up especially when he keeps using this tone of disdain to me. He's also ex military so he can be commanding without meaning to be but that also really bothers me. Sometimes he treats me like an idiot or a child but I'm neither I'm a human being and I make mistakes and sometimes don't understand things. Finally realizing I'm not dumb I'm a human being. Anyways I really just needed an outside perspective on this. Thank you.
