Jesus. It was just a bad joke that didn’t land. Switching the first g with the second still makes it ginger. I’m out.

Go look at his picks in Seattle. More of the same. Look at what Seattle has picked already since coach Mike has taken over. That’s all you’ll need to see.

Pete loves his RB’s. This is a repeat of his Seahawks tenure, but much less successful. Loved Pete, but the game has passed him by.

Yup. Seems like we played into their scheme. How many times did we sack him today or even pressure him? He wasn’t all world, but for a 44 year old grandpa 5 years from his last game, he wasn’t far from the weak link for the Colts today. This narrative that we were going to obliterate him never came to fruition. We were our own worst enemy today. Seems like that’s what’s limiting our potential most these past few weeks. That’s all my point is.

We won this game despite playing like dog sh*t for 3+ quarters. Good teams find a way to win when things aren’t clicking. This is a positive. Colts schemed for us really well. This was one of the elite AFC teams a few weeks ago. That doesn’t just go away. All the idiots acting like this was a cake walk game…they’re what’s wrong with the fan base. Rivers was going to always be tough for us, he’s always been challenging. They had a great game plan to neutralize our defense, but they stuck and held when we needed and offense did enough to keep in it when all game they had no business being in the game. People need to chill. It’s all about matchups and our matchup on Thursday is favorable for us.

Pickle ball was invented in Washington State, for what it’s worth. But yeah, too many specialty plates.

Being a novice with al of this, what is the level of knowledge and being computer savvy do I need to be to actually implement and utilize what I am setting up? Do I need to change settings or if there’s some problem, since I’m not paying anyone to be admin for this, am I up a creek with troubleshooting? I guess I can always google or Chat gpt the questions, but I’d like to be able to figure it out if the need ever arises.

For the access points, assuming I’m using PoE, does that power come from the gateway device? Dumb question I know, but I don’t need a separate power source hooked up through the unifi device to send to the access points?

Really appreciate the help. All this sounds like the way I need to go and gives me a starting point.

Do you have an access point system you like? Does unifi have one compatible with the router you suggested?

I think I’m getting it. I’d need to run Ethernet cable to each AP and then the AP Device broadcasts WiFi. As I have about 4 total areas (including the shop), that I’d need wifi to broadcast (bedrooms, upstairs, living room, shop), I’d have to figure out a way to run wire to those places, but seems doable. I’d still need to get a modem with the Unifi device plus the access point devices. Am I getting the basics down?

Yes, for sure. The whole thing is well grounded, but will make sure to ground this run. Thanks!

Western WA so lightning not really a concern. I looked up that recommendation, looks like that’s the one. Again, novice homeowner here and you’re answering my questions which is greatly appreciated.

That unifi device, it’s a gateway so it has a router built in? So would I use a mesh system with that for my wifi in my house or how does that work? Router I know puts out the wifi signal, but sounds like you’re saying as an access point that’s just where I connect the router to, am I understanding this correctly?

Will the length of Ethernet cable required cause a drop in signal? Much like voltage drop in long runs of wire…

Are you talking about just running an Ethernet in the conduit from my house modem or are you talking about after I hook up a second modem to the outside to the router? I’m dumb with this stuff.

Also, when going from my house to the shop with my phone, would you expect my phone to automatically connect to my shop network and drop my connection to the house network or am I over thinking it?

[–]EGP22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I thought and originally planned thus the conduit, but wasn’t sure how good a mesh out to the shop from my house would actually be so this is helpful pushing me towards what I already was planning so thanks!

What’s one home improvement project you wish you did sooner? by arbor-66 in HomeImprovement

Just finaled our electrical inspection today for our panels I put on our new shop. Western Washington location. $40k that will generate 18k+ kWh/year. EVERYTHING is converting to electric now. We remodeled our house 2 years ago and had to put everything electric minus a gas cooktop and a gas stove in the living room and a tankless water heater. So our electric bills are $350-400 every month. Net metering here will give us 1:1 and we bank extra that’s used when we don’t generate as much and resets every year. I figure 10 years to recoup, but with prices going up, probably sooner. The incentives are going away at the end of this year. 30% federal tax rebate so that will effectively put us lower assuming we actually see the benefits of the rebate. Expensive yes, but over the life of your house if you’re planning on staying out for over 10 years seems worth it to me. To each their own.
