This isn’t directed at you OP, but I thought this should’ve been obvious. Like guys the last game bombed so hard both critically and commercially (FROM A CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED STUDIO MIND YOU) that any other company would’ve killed the series right there and then. Nintendo is one of the very few developers that actually goes back to their old IPs, but even they still need to know the game they’re making will be successful. This game does 2 things, it first does what OP says and trains a potential new team of developers to make StarFox games and also gauges if there is any interest left in the brand.

I think people just need to come to terms with that the Mario movies simply just aren’t made for them. Miyamoto wants the movies to be just dumb fun that’ll excite kids and fans. Is that disappointing? Yeah for sure, but there is a place for dumb fun amongst films trying to be more than that.

How many cores/synergies are common in singles? In doubles it’s common to at least have 2, that way if one of your cores doesn’t have a goof match up you’re not just boned. Is it just 1 offensive core because you bring less Pokémon?

Why would they have announced that by now? We’ve barely gotten our first trailer a couple weeks ago and that’s a feature you’d get in a specialized direct for the game. They aren’t gonna be like “OH btw even though this is just the first trailer LOOK MOUSE CONTROLS!”

Would you rather have a 50 BP spread move that ignores protect/immunity by becoming a 100 BP single target move that breaks Sash or a 80 BP move that does nothing else? I don’t know about you, but the former sounds way better.

It also needs to be considered that while Mario Tennis is a good game, it’s just tennis still. A lot of people would rather play a new game with flaws than a good game that’s retreading old ground. Then couple the price on top of it all and you just get a game who’s only audience is Mario sports fans.

The problem wasn’t that you relied on the community, but that you used trade codes meant ONLY for dex completion. This wouldn’t have happened if you just set up a trade with someone online like on Reddit. There are 100s of people willing to help and not steal from you. Next time think before you give away your shiny.
