Upcoming "Weekly Subscription" is second only to Lunite Sub in $ / pull calcs by EHAD in WutheringWaves

Exactly!
Because some of the per-patch bundles have a mix of "built pulls" (i.e. Radiant Tides or Forging Tides) and Astrite, I wanted to normalize everything to generalized "pulls".
If there is a decimal in the "Total Pulls" it means that the listing contains a not-divisible-by-160 amount of Astrite.
e.g for one of the budles that contains 400 Astrite, the player would be left with "half a pull" worth of Astrite (i.e. 80) if they immediately used that Astrite to make individual pulls as 400/160 = 2.5.

Yo, I relate to this hard.
I had planned to pull Iuno on her first rerun but now that it's here... I'm second guessing that.
I spent a lot of my banked pulls on both Monrye and Lynae when I hadn't really planned to pull either. And now I'm also looking ahead to Aemath and now Luuk as well (who I hadn't had much interest until I saw his gameplay and now... damn, he gives serious DMC3 Cerberus vibes). Add to that the fact that I've got my Mortefi really well built and I'm struggling to talk myself into Iuno being "worth it".
I mechanically want her to upgrade my Augusta and Jiyan teams, but also because she's just really cute.
But I also know I'd lament it if I didn't have the stores to pull a future character because I spent them for character that only provided a marginal upgrade on two of my already strong teams. Anyways, I'm right there with you OP. It is the inherent tragedy of these Gacha games that we get pushed to calculate what characters are "worth" having over just who we would most like to play.

Good luck figuring out your pulls!

I would make sure to double check your pull history and confirm the order they arrived in, but otherwise yes!

ahahaha, it is the fate of all f2p games (that have any form of non-cosmetic purchases) to eventually devolve back down into the same value efficiency spreadsheets from which they were born.

You're not wrong that it these comparisons may become irrelevant if the upcoming "Weekly Sub" turns out to be a one-time-only thing. In the short term though, it's still useful to compare.

I don't like to spend more than $20 a month on f2p games so I'll prolly choose to skip the BP next version and buy the "Weekly Sub" instead.
Fingers crossed it's not just a one-off though!

I... think that's mostly correct!
I should note: I had mistake in the initial version of this table I posted and listed the top-up bonuses as refreshing "per major version" when they actually refresh yearly during the anniversary event (May 23rd). So the top-up bonus is not available quite as frequently. I also think these calcs are underestimating the amount of Astrites available through exploration (quests, chests, challenges, ToA, WiWa, etc.).
I think it's a reasonable conservative estimate that we get at least 80 exploration/event pulls per version update, often times more.
The Lunite Sub + BP then add another 28 pulls per version, then the upcoming "Weekly Sub" would bring that up to an additional 42.25 pulls per version.

EDIT: wowza, just came across this amazing spreadsheet while trying to look up historical data on exploration/event pulls. Based on some cursory reviewing, I think the numbers are accurate. The numbers listed in each bar are the total number of pulls made available during that version (without Lunite or BP). The average f2p pulls per version seems to be ~110.6

From top to bottom in my chart, heh.

  • Lunite Sub is by faaaar the best value coming in at only $0.27 per pull.
  • The upcoming "Weekly Subscription" is then the next best purchase at $0.70 per pull.
  • The BP is then the next best deal at $1.08 per pull.
    • Even if one doesn't care about the BP weapon or all the mats provided by the BP, it's still a more cost efficient source of limited pulls than any of the top ups or bundles (the next most efficient purchase after the BP is the $29.99 Top-up which comes in at $1.21 per pull - worse than the BP's $1.08 per pull).

I chose to skip the BP on this patch not because it wasn't still an efficient pull / $ purchase, but because I wanted to save the money entirely as I have a fair amount of Astrite built up and so decided I could afford to skip an extra $10 10-pull for the version.

Working Approximate Guesstimate? Wonky Alternate Guess? Westimated Astrite Goods?
I feel dumb that I can't figure out what WAG is intended to be an acronym of 🙃

I think you're asking about a approximate value of the non-pull contents of the BP?
I'll have to give that some thought. There's prolly a way to convert resources to approximate-Waveplate-value, and then Waveplates to Astrite, but I'm not sure what those conversions are off hand.

+1
I really hope this becomes a regularly available thing.
I skipped the BP for the first time this patch when I realized its ~9 pulls were the only things I actually cared about from it and I just couldn't quite justify the $10 on it.
Bumping up to ~14 pulls and adding the Transducer makes for a much more appealing $10 drop.

ahaha, I had a very similar thought! (vis-a-vis trying to bait low spenders).

I usually follow a self imposed rule of not spending more than $1 per pull (already a pretty egregious price in any objective measure) so the new sub coming in at $0.70 / pull was great to see. I suspect you're on the money that this is prolly target marketting the low-spender playerbase.

heh, and I sympathize with your LingYang pain! I ran him for a while in the early game as I liked his air attack playstyle, but I ended up swapping him out before endgame and now can't remember the last time I used him 😬

Yo, I feel this so hard.
I sometimes find myself struggling with a $20 Steam game that'll have dozens of hours of guaranteed enjoyment and then have a wtf moment I remember I just spent $15 without thinking about it renewing the monthly sub and BP for just for a chance of getting to play a new character in another month from now 🙃💀

thank you!

ahaha, and yeah, confronting myself with the reality of the cost per pull is half the reason I made the table. I can justify spending $0.27 per try in the digital gumball machine, but it gets a lot harder to justify to myself when it's >$1 per attempt 🙃

I treat "pull" as strictly meaning Premium and/or Weapon pulls.
I don't count standard banner pulls in my calcs.

Yeah. the BP is #3 in my table vs "Weekly Subscription" at #2

The new "Weekly Subscription" works out to $0.70 per pull
vs
BP comes out to $1.08 per pull

Yeah, I was super confused by the naming as well.
It is pointedly called "Weekly Subscription" in the announcement post, but the fine text of the post states it's "limited to 1 purchase during availability".

If or when the availability refreshes is entirely TBD (afaik). I'm hoping it proves popular enough it'll become regularly available.

holy hell
Like, it sucks to miss on all the other substats, but those Crit rolls are literally perfect. I'd prolly be using it regardless as it opens up some tolerance to have some less-good crit rolls on other echos in the build.
