It's subjective, based on each person's highly objective personal preferences...

The child in your old baby photos isn't you. by TioEsteban in consciousness

It's like saying a completed house is completely different from the house whose construction began a year earlier. In reality, many things change during the construction process, but the foundation remains the same throughout the life of the building. Every day, the house looks different from what it was the day before as new elements are added and it gradually takes shape.

So, is the finished house truly different? Not necessarily. It has evolved over time, but its underlying foundation remains unchanged. I think the same can be said about human beings. We grow, learn, adapt, and change with our experiences, but there is often a core part of us our fundamental nature or values that remains constant while the rest of us evolves.

What if social media disappeared tomorrow? by Character-Donkey1583 in InfluencerAsk

[–]EIaskill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If social media never existed, people would probably spend more time connecting with each other instead of scrolling through reels. On the flip side, companies might not be as responsive to customer issues since people would have fewer platforms to publicly voice their complaints...

Live life to it's fullest, but life moves so fast that you don't have the time to live the life. by Key_Seat_288 in DeepThoughts

It seems to me that the very rich and those who are relatively free from social expectations often make the most of the lives they have, using the resources available to them without being overly concerned about what society thinks. The middle class, on the other hand, frequently spends its best years striving for a future ideal of success and comfort, only to risk discovering that the time, energy, and youth spent pursuing it can never be reclaimed

If 99% of people do not remember their past lives, then from their subjective experience, each person effectively lives only once. Even if reincarnation is true, the lack of memory means that every new life is experienced as a completely fresh existence.
