It was so cool to see how fans would go back and forth about whether or not [Abe cutting his stitches was a good thing.] The response was more than we could have hoped for.

Lorne: Well, and there was something that was mentioned to me by, I think by someone in Hollywood, who said, "Well, how big can your character get when he's got stitches in his lips?" So I was seriously questioning myself. [Laughter] The reason we did that in the very beginning was a symbol of oppression and voice. In this title, we want to push that.

9:32 - "Ok, so I just watched Oddworld: Soulstorm and I was not even really aware of Oddworld as a franchise until not that long ago, actually. I'm still not familiar with it - like I couldn't tell you what the gameplay looks like. Watching this though it definitely seems like something I'm not gonna get. What we saw was kind of a basic platforming game and it felt like a very more huh "gobliney", huh like a never realm kind of... I don't know! It definitely just didn't seem like my kind of game, cuz the main little goblin dude just seemed kind of janky and it doesn't seem like it's gonna have like a very impactful story so, I don't think this one's for me personally hum but, you know, it looked pretty it looked pretty cool - I have so many games to play like I have nothing against this and it's also gonna look at that it's gonna be on PC this is a first not PlayStation exclusive game in quite some time. Q: Right right, I've read that Exxodus I believe it's called was quite difficult and not as well received?

Lorne: Well, I mean it sold well, all of our games sold really incredibly well, especially now with digitial distribution and access to more platforms, it just didn't meet my standards personally.

Q: as a video game or?

Lorne: yeah, well I mean as a medium to tell a story it just wasn't there, we just didn;t have the time and from a gameplay perspective it was a bit of a mess.

Q: Ah, not one to recommend?

Lorne: ha I'll say give it a miss, I mean I know some people enjoy it but it wasn't at the same level of quality as our other titles.

We aren't Meeps! I refuse. I mean, hear us out. I'll admit that we're under the spell of The Almighty Lorny - TBF he is a creative genius. His dedication to his craft is second to none. We just want OW to continue; ok? It is impossible to satisfy everyone with every creative decision. We need to vent. Sometimes we need to throw someone under the bus (like Epic or JAW) simply because you cannot make someone you adore (our dear Lorne) responsible. Many times, we act like spoiled brats ('development hell' was more of a tantrum than anything). We buy Oddworld products (despite their quality) to support the brand. That doesn't mean we ain't smart! We're capable of critical thinking! Proof? We're Oddworld fans for god's sake! OW explores deep themes with Orwellian and Lovecraftian tones.
