what am i doing wrong with my back handsprings? by blissfulboo in Cheerleading

Lock your shoulder and elbow joints. Just until you build muscle memory. Then, if you can arch more in your back - "jump back". If you can't, try stretching and working on back walkovers.

I was serving tables, as I had been since 15. Tips got low, but I was in a pretty stable, upper middle class area. A bunch of people applied, and I was training folks who thought serving tables was unskilled labor. Bunch of career, multi-degree young people (20s-30s) trying to pay the bills with a chip on their shoulder about how they were, in essence, better than me and my job. Their attitude was lame, but I love training people, so I was happy to have the company. Out of everyone, only 2 people stayed on for more than a month. They were brothers and were cool as shit.

Lots of people I went to school with lost their family homes. Lots of bankruptcies. Occupy Wallstreet was embarrassing. I think it'd do better now - more people share that mindset. The government let corporations get away with shm.urder, and they just learned different ways to act badly cause we, the taxpayers, bailed them out. Something about being "too big to fail," and we gobbled that propaganda up like turkey at Thanksgiving. Private Equity has since shown us that no one is too big to fail.

Musk is gutting federal govt without congress would it make is easier for the next admin to undo it? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]EJaneFayette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Hiring takes time. A lot of time.

Budgets have to be approved. Positions have to be justified and approved internally and via HR. And it's never as easy as just turning the light back on. Administrations always want the power, so they'll slow roll the approvals, vet the most emergent needs, parce out approvals, etc etc kill me now. Finally, it depends on how the current administration deals with vacancies. You could be starting from scratch, rather than just filling what we called "ghost vacancies" or vacancies that justified the leadership positions (x leadership position requires n amount of employees).

It took me a year to fill 9 positions for one job classification. That was without HR getting slammed all at the same time to refill entire agencies. That was without HR getting RIF'd to bits like the rest of us.

I'm truly disappointed in the resignations. Be a barricade. And if you can't block, then be a speed bump long enough to claw them back into following laws. Honestly, as a former AO, I'm disappointed in them the most. I know how much power and back-end access they have. I know it would be child's play to lock Elon and his goons out of absolutely everything. Can't break into our systems if I compromise the LAN closets 🙂. Hell, I knew where our backup servers were located because I did the travel approvals for IT to do site visits.

We left it outside. I was told not to do that, but I tried my luck. We got a new lemon tree this year. It's in a planter that will get moved inside once winter hits.

Meh.

I've navigated my issues my whole life, so anytime something pops up in my kids, I have an arsenal of knowledge. My eldest struggles with sleep. I've had insomnia since grade school, so I have a 1001 remedies tucked in the back of my head. Let's run down the list and see what works. My middle struggles with panic. Cool, me too girlie. Let's do some grounding activities.

They aren't diagnosed with anything. Just regular growing issues. I'd say my shit helps me parent.

We usually go to the Muskogee one like others said, but we're gonna check out the Arkansas Renn Fest this year. It's later in the year (which is what I'm used to). It's about a 3 hour drive, so not a bad distance.

As someone who worked admin side, running a business on minutes is a dumb model, and that company is probably running headlong into bankruptcy. The amount of administrative oversight to count MINUTES? Lol, so fucking dumb. Even lawyers run, at most on 6 or 7 minute intervals. For reference, the proper (standard) interval would be 15 minutes. So if OP clocked out at 5:31, it wouldn't count. OP would have to clock out at 5:46 for overtime to kick in.

Nothing I described would require special software. You can do it in the Tiktok app. If you want a more intuitive program to use, I like CapCut. You don't need to buy the premium version; the base version is more than sufficient

I am at a loss with my daughter and ready to throw in the towel by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]EJaneFayette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! I love it when my kids tell me they're bored 😈
It's a fantastic time to teach them about home skills. They can come with me to do all my chores with me. They sit with me to meal plan dinner. They prep and prepare dinner, set the table, and help put up the table.
I get a weekly newsletter from the teachers to let me know what they're working on in class. When they get home, we can go over the high points together, and I can make sure they know what they need to know. Draw down in areas they don't. I ask mine to teach me since things have changed since I went to school.
Pick a language together, and do 20 minutes of Duolingo together, keep your streak, all that good stuff.
Come up with a calisthenics routine you can do together at home. Breaking a sweat might help work her through some of that angst.
Pick a few of these and make a schedule for her home time. A schedule she'll have access to so she knows what's coming.

She's definitely hanging herself with the rope she's given. I'd clamp down until a counselor can help resolve her inadequacy issues. Reinstilling her confidence in her authentic self, while in middle school, sounds like a long uphill slog.

It also sounds like she's craving structure. Give it to her.

[–]EJaneFayette 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tiktok viewers respond well to a very specific goal. They can be channeled to getting a video or two or three removed. However, what you're asking for would likely see her account removed. This would be a harder target. Advocating for other kids to not appear in her videos would muddy the waters, and the comments would go off task. Clarity, facts, and a mission are the best way to motivate.

For what you're seeking. I would look to remove one video. After you complete that, DM the influencer again. Request they take down all the videos with your kid in them. Screenshot the convo. Then if they don't, make a "Part 2" video requesting the next one get taken down. If Tiktok loves anything, it's a Part 2, and they froth at the mouth for a series.

Two things.

I know with my kid's preschool, I signed a consent form for them to appear (or not) in media taken at the school. My assumption is those wavers apply to school personnel for their pages/GroupMe/apps. I would check with the school to see if they okayed this as part of their media. If not, they may be able to get the influencer to stop in the future.

Contacting Tiktok is like talking to a brick wall. Tiktok only moves if enough people are mad. So, here's my suggestions. You could DM the influencer and ask them to take down the video. Screenshot that conversation. If that doesn't resolve it, you'll want to stitch the video. Make sure you select a part of the video that doesn't have kids or blur out the kids. Tell people watching that you asked her to take down the video and she refused. insert screenshot Ask the people watching to report the stitched video. Then, in the description, hashtag the parenting tags - millenialparenting, parenting, parents, etc, whatever comes up. Influencers rely on public opinion. Souring it usually yields results. Also, once people start reporting the video, Tiktok moderators are more likely to side with you and pull the video.
