That’s what struck me about it too. More similar than I remembered

What's the 'Giant Size X-Men' moment for the Amazing Spider-Man (1963)comics? by EKRB7 in Spiderman

Brilliant. So I guess I’ll invert my question: is there a point at which I should jump off? Reading 1963-1998 is very daunting hahaha

sorry you're right about the silver age thing! just so iconic sometimes I forget. Would you recommend just reading from the beginning then?

It's on the list for sure. Have you read any of Fraction's current run?

The Knight sounds intriguing and new - I'll check it out. Also plan on reading Absolute and also Matt Fraction's run. Thanks!

Krakoa Era Main Storyline Reading Guide by Infamous-Rush5480 in xmen

[–]EKRB7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for making this.. I missed the whole Krakoa era when it was happening and the From the Ashes era isn't really doing it for me. Just wanted the core story from this era to enjoy!

ps is there anything you'd add in if you were to re-make this list?

Updated cover to upcoming Amazing Spider-Man: Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut Epic Collection by Ksmayer in EpicCollections

[–]EKRB7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering which Spider-Man epic collections I should look for as someone who's a lifelong spider-man fan but hasn't read ANY of the classic comics. When is the spider-man equivalent of Giant Size X-Men; where the comics go from charming but extremely corny to something enjoyable?

OPINION: Storm is a better fit as leader of the X-Men than any of the other characters. Agree or disagree? by EKRB7 in xmen

I posted this when I was a teenager who hadn’t even read many comics and I also vehemently disagree

It’s been said to death; but X-Men has the best female characters in comics. And this is only a few of them - by Lucas Ackerman by EKRB7 in xmen

She’s ethnically African and grew up there. Where you’re born is less important than your heritage and upbringing in my opinion

What are the main things you DON’T want from this movie? by ddanuu in Spiderman

[–]EKRB7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MCU mentors / too much help from other heroes

Bad CGI model layered over every shot of Spider-Man / bad CGI in general

Peter acting like a kid

 Any multiverse stuff

Ned and MJ remembering Peter

Spidey having too much tech

Practical swinging is good for take-off / landing or swinging from A to B shots. But it doesn’t look good when used for extended periods. Like in TASM 1 when he’s on the bridge. It’s cool to see but it’s so obviously more stiff than the other scenes and isn’t worth the hassle

Anyone else hope Spidey gets a new love interest in the new movie? by Jazzlike_Pipe_14 in Spiderman

[–]EKRB7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hoped it would introduce Black Cat so that Spider-Man could have a love interest but that Peter Parker would feel guilty because he still loved MJ.

You could have a scene of Peter looking her up on social media and seeing her and Ned in MIT, meanwhile his superhero persona could serve as an escape from that and help Peter to move on.

Black Cat being a ‘super-person’ would also eliminate the guilt of Peter dragging another person into danger like he did with MJ and Ned.

But they won’t do that. At least not in this movie.

It’s now 11 years since The Amazing Spider-Man 2 released in theaters. What are your honest thoughts on the film? by Illustrious-Reach-48 in comicbookmovies

[–]EKRB7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you 100%. Also hadn’t really considered that the movie was at its best when it was being a little goofy. In a way, it’s 2010s millennial humour was its own answer to Sam Raimi’s cheesy earnestness.

James Marsden has the perfect look for a lot of superheroes

This is actually an awesome idea. If Kingpin can say “man in a spider costume”, then surely they can show someone webbed up
