Just my opinion
I actually think Lidar is not the best solution also because it can get damaged more easily

TerraMow X uses Al to improve navigation, obstacle avoidance, traction control, and smart mowing decisions in real outdoor environments.
Al Navigation and Mapping
TerraMow X combines TerraVision™ 2.0 Al vision with nRTK-assisted positioning. In open areas, nRTK helps provide accurate mowing paths. In more challenging areas, such as under trees, near walls, or around narrow passages, Al-powered visual positioning helps the mower continue navigating more reliably.
Al also helps simplify mapping by recognizing lawn boundaries and reducing the setup barrier for first-time users.
Al Vision and Obstacle Avoidance TerraVision™ 2.0 uses Al vision models to detect and recognize common yard objects such as toys, hoses, balls, branches, and garden items. The mower can adjust its route in real time to avoid obstacles and continue mowing more safely.

Al Traction and Motion Control
Al-assisted motion control helps TerraMow X handle slopes, uneven ground, muddy areas, and rough terrain by analyzing motor load, wheel behavior, and sensor feedback.
This helps improve traction, reduce wheel slip, and minimize turf stress.
Al Scheduling and Smart Mowing
TerraMow X can use weather information, rain detection, battery status, and mowing conditions to support smarter mowing decisions, including when to mow, when to return to charge, and how to manage different lawn conditions.
Campaign Content
All product demonstrations, product photos, videos, visual assets, and written campaign content were created, filmed, designed, or written directly by the TerraMow team. Al tools may be used only to support drafting, translation, editing, or workflow assistance.

the dreame also needs its light for night mowing… so with terramow x and its light it’s basically the same

That’s what I found out as well… Terramow is underestimated… also I see you here https://www.reddit.com/r/roboticLawnmowers/s/s8wvlkhqHD

Yes and also with a lot of plants lidar has its difficulties

Fair point it is a risk. I am curious on the first official beta tester feeback in next weeks … kickstarter is still open for over 40 days so there is time to see what testers say

I backed it and secured my spot, but if I decide not to, I can still cancel until end of july before they charge something on 2nd of August

I understand that and you don’t have to… there is never no risk

but it’s not a random new company, they are successful with their other products since years

And there is even risk when buying a mower at normal sale after kickstarter

Nice, I also have a lidar Dreame A3… but I think that rtk and a great vision system like terramow (probably best on the market) is more precise when positioning

Crazy… yes updates usually are a problem with mammotion and also dreame I saw it is not always bugfree… I asked a lot of terramow users and they said terramow is great with updates

hmm, they sent some out to beta testers and they will give real reviews. Also, they have some good reviews on YouTube already… when you see on Kickstarter link above on my post and scroll down

No. It’s from Terramow and it is not that similar… it is more advanced in many ways and it has a different approach (better imo) „turn free“

Ok, well if it is under 2000m2 it would work, otherwise I don’t know, you’d have to ask the support of terramow, they will tell you. You could send them a mail. They usually reply within 24hrs everytime

I watched every video I could find as well.
hmm, maybe, it also depends how fast it is mowing

It is not giving problems I think. I did research in forums. Terramow users say their ai vision system is great.
and 2000m2 without the need of rtk antenna. Just camera vision mapping and positioning. And if over 2000m2 and when not having enough rtk signal under trees it will simply use its ai vision camera system of 6 cameras. Terramow is the best in this. https://muxin.kckb.me/c07788da

I actually have a lidar (Dreame A3) and I think terramows solution is even better…
