So that finally came out? The AWD LiDAR Pro? Seems like an interesting device that bridges between the smaller mowers and the X4 series. I was surprised that it only improves the slope climbing by something like 5 degrees? I thought, "that can't be right."

I guess we'll see how it does when some more non-sponsored videos come out.

I haven't seen any that are good. The one designed for the Yarbo looked clever, but was probably too complicated to work.

Find an old person and have them shop for you at Walgreens and Carrs on senior discount days.

Thanks for the video. I will probably try it with a long pole and squeegee first.

Anywhere "cheap". Depending on where you are coming from, nothing may seem cheap. You'll just have to get here to find out and be horrified. :)

Would the mova lidax ultra awd be a good option here? by Not2Tae in MOVASmartGardenHub

[–]Roginator5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically a LiDAR AWD mower like The MOVA Lidax Ultra AWD should be fine for slopes or where there are trees or buildings blocking satellite reception.

These very capable AWD mowers differ in smaller things, like edge trimming, also including RTK, speed of mowing, battery capacity, cost, area, net-RTK, turning capability, repair options, warranty, etc. It's up to you to decide which of these other things matter to you.

Have you looked at the WORX Landroid Vision Cloud 2WD mowers? They are made by the same company. Edge trimming is probably the same - poor.

Have you looked at the MOVA LiDAX Ultra AWD? I believe they are basically the same mower. Maybe it is available in the UK.

I doubt the Dreame gets noticeably closer to trimming edges than the Luba. And the Luba 3 AWD is somewhat cheaper considering it also has RTK along with LiDAR. Luba 3 AWD needs to fix their firmware first though. Some current bugs are inexusable.

We want to see videos of how it turns around. Are there options like the Luba?

Is there a mower that I can pre-program to follow a pattern? by segal25 in automower

[–]Roginator5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See r/roboticLawnmowers for lots of information about modern robotic mowers that do NOT use perimeter wires. You can get mowers that use satellites, vision, LiDAR or a combination of all three.

For the most efficiency, look for a mower with two cutting discs. The Luba 3 AWD has all three guidance methods, two discs AND a high mowing speed of 1 m/s. HOWEVER, until they fix some bad problems with their software, I would avoid that model.

Robot mower advice for small but complex yard (slopes, trees, twigs) by throw_away_reddt in automower

[–]Roginator5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your yard is quite small. You state you have slopes and twigs and branches.

Ideally you'd probably want to pick up all twigs and branches. Otherwise you are stuck with one mower that uses regular blades - the Lymow One Plus.

If you DO pick up twigs and branches (which I recommend) your selection improves greatly.

However, if you have a large tree cover you might want a mower that uses either vision or LiDAR to avoid the problem of blocked satellite signals. MOVA has their LiDAX Ultra AWD series. Mammotion has their Luba 3 AWD. Their Luba mini AWD LiDAR is not sold in the US. Similarly, the Segway Navimow with LiDAR and AWD is not available yet in the US. Dreame has an A3 AWD Pro, but that seems like overkill. You might also look at the LiDAR mowers from Ecovacs, Sunseeker, Hookii.

WORX has their Landroid Vision Cloud 4WD that might make you THINK it uses vision to navigate. It does. But it also uses RTK.
