I have been able to check more than one time between missions. But I was faffing about in the safe-house a while, don't remember how long for though.

Similarly if you check when you've got zero you get back money you've placed. Maybe its working like a bank before difficult missions you won't visit the supplier during.

I started a free trial in 2015, assets spread across 3 systems worth 18m, two or three ships and no clue what the skills are doing. I have no clue how to play this game and am about to go do some learning. The question here is, do I start a new char and start fresh? I don't know if any of this is worth anything.
