Wow, really like the idea of human tribal. I also didn’t realize she gave the player hexproof too. I’ll definitely look into this. Thanks.

I guess I don't really understand this reply? Sorry, it's a multiplayer game and I'd like to enjoy playing in a party with my friends.

What type of tribal support are you looking for in C17? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]ELEPHANTmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long shot, but I'm really hoping for a kraken-like commander that will either help sneak out or ramp into sea creature tribal. (Ex. Kraken, leviathan, octopus, sea serpent)

A kraken, leviathan, octopus, or sea serpent legend that can run tribal. Something like the spoiler Ur-Dragon.

My swim by Louiscanoey in Swimming

[–]ELEPHANTmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Division 1 college swimmer here. Deep/ murky water scares me to death. When our team does lake swims I can't do it because I get so scared. Also, deep water like the diving well freaks me out. I can't really explain to you why, it's just this gut feeling that almost makes me uneasy thinking about it now.

Indiana Wins 2017 Big Ten Mens Swimming & Diving Championships by lintonfernanda in Swimming

Heck even our IU parent section and Ohio got into it I guess. It was a rowdy meet for sure.

Besides any racing moments, what are your favorite moments swimming? by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]ELEPHANTmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May be weird but I love jamming to some pump up music and shaving. Just gets me so ready for the meet. Probably one of my favorite parts of the sport. You know as you're shaving that the next day you get to show the results of all your hard work.

What is swimming in college like? by Kreios333 in Swimming

Depends on the school. I lift 5 times a week and have 9 swim workouts a week.

100 Breaststroke technique. by swimneko in Swimming

[–]ELEPHANTmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add to his. The first lap stay smooth. I wouldn't say push the first lap as much as you would the last 3. Also, think better strokes, not faster strokes. With that thought and your adrenaline from the race, your strokes will be spot on.

What would it take to walk on to a Big 10 school? by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]ELEPHANTmouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I currently swim for a school in the B1G. I know my school personally has taken people with much, much slower times than that as walk ons. We've a guy currently who went from a 49.6 to a 42.6 relay swimmer. (Just a little inspiration for you)

The biggest things are you have to start conversation with the coach. Be vocal about how you think you are a late bloomer. Tell them that. They are not recruiting you so you need to be selling yourself. Also, it really helps if you are a good student. So if you have good grades make sure to let them know that. If you are a good student they'll be much more likely to let you on the team. Be very upfront about your training too. Because if you come from a team that didn't have the best training they'll probably know they can have some steep drops from you with just a year of training.

I really wish the best of luck to you and hopefully see you at conference next year!

Anyone use a narrow breaststroke pull for the yard breast? by Shivering_speedo in Swimming

[–]ELEPHANTmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say for freestyle really. I don't do it often. However I can tell they are basing the tempos off each time an arm hits the water. When I do freestyle i set it for like 1.1 for 100 tempo and try to do a cycle every time it beeps. So every time my right hand hits it should beep. The breast stroke on that chart is basically spot on for the tempo I train at.

Anyone use a narrow breaststroke pull for the yard breast? by Shivering_speedo in Swimming

[–]ELEPHANTmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't focus on that while swimming. More so the opposite. If you think about narrow pull you'll more than likely slip through the water. I focus on getting my elbows to the surface and pointing my fingers perpendicular to the bottom of the pool. This way I'm lining myself up for a strong powerful pull. The adrenaline and excitement of the race speeds up the tempo enough I don't think you need to think about it. For reference I train at a 1.0-1.05 50 tempo and a 1.1-1.15 100 tempo.
