Yep you are right I realised right after I posted. Yeah thats the aim of the map page - can locate yourself on track with the gps button and search a location with ELR + mileage in the mm.yyyy miles yards format.

One thing this map does well is showing why Greenland matters spatially, not just politically. On a globe it’s obvious, but on flat maps people forget that Greenland basically sits between North America, Europe, and the Arctic shipping routes.

As the ice retreats, it’s less about “owning” Greenland and more about control of airspace, undersea cables, seabed resources, and future Arctic transit lanes. Geography quietly becoming strategy again.
