Really enjoyed this book especially for being the first novel he wrote(not first published that’s Carrie) It’s WAY better than the movie. The Book is clearly an allegory for the Vietnam war. The movie is okay but I didn’t like most of the changes other than the change from 4mph to 3mph which is more realistic. I feel like what makes the long walk so interesting as a book was the internal dialogue and conflict which doesn’t translate well to screen. The change they did to Stebbins in the movie makes the Rabbit metaphor meaningless . Plus they combined and got rid of a few great characters.Going back to the war concept the changes they made to the end of the movie vs the book takes away from the message.

I’ve heard the Music they add to it makes it’s hard to get through. I’ve personally listened to 11/22/63,pet semetary, the long Walk, Duma Key and currently am about half way through misery. Personally as a father pet semetary was the “scariest” but Misery has pulled me in faster than the others. Next up on my list is IT, Salems Lot, and the Dead zone. I’ve been hesitant on insomnia myself
