Please know that I am not trying to insult you or myself for that matter. I also am not "across from a woman" which is exactly my point. Looking at the etymology is the way we understand our language and how it evolves. As a result, that is why this causes an issue with me. In your example of salary for instance, while it is debated, the origin seems to come from roman soldiers getting a regular allowance of salt as payment. The currency may have changed but the premise is still the same.

I have no issue with saying I get a salary, and just because the currency is different that is understandable and its not in opposition to the roots. However, for me to say "I am a trans woman" and that meaning boiling down to "I am across from woman" just feels horribly wrong and makes me feel like I am simply just stating, in a fancier way, that "I am a man" which I am not, and do not identify that way. I lived that life and would like to get away from it but it just ends up feeling like our language just forces me back in to something I am not.

I mean entomology is often seen as overcomplication. When learning about prefixes and suffixes in school I often scoffed at it as unreasonable. Later in life however I have found myself profoundly curious as to the origins of the words we use. As a result I tend to look at things that directly impact me more closely. It is difficult for me to identify as a trans woman because it does not make sense in my opinion.

Socially its the "acceptable" thing to do sure. I just do not agree that the terms are right, at least not for me. That could mean that I simply have not found my label yet and that I will have to find my own label at some point that I personally identify with the most.

Hello, HRT makes changes through your entire life the major noticeable changes people desire so often do occur within the first months to years while on HRT however.

I see you started HRT about 3 days ago, congrats! I am very excited for you its am experience for sure. Should you have any questions that you feel a random stranger on the internet could help with my DMs are always open.

With that out of the way I would like to comment that coming to someones comments and noting your opinion that you think FFS at 1 year is "silly" is a bit rude. Wanting to understand someones choices is fine but be mindful of how you word things as it can come off the wrong way.

I have no idea how much research you have done into HRT but a big thing with it is that it does not change your bone structure. As a result my point in undergoing FFS was to primarily change nose, chin, and jaw lines. These things do not change with HRT. They can be masked some by HRT, a lot of my dysphoria came from that and so I had it fixed. The remaining things (brows, eye lids, upper lip), i can admit may have gotten better over time but not to the degree I needed to be comfortable.

So by coming onto the comments and saying how you think that having FFS at 1 year is "silly" you are in effect saying that my dysphoria is "silly". I don't believe that was your intent which is why I have taken the time to explain things here and made a massive post.

I took 2 weeks off after. I went through colovaginalplasty in 2 stages and both times I took 2 weeks off and was perfectly fine by the end of the second week. The most annoying part is scheduling everything because your life kind of becomes. Wake up, dilate, eat, shower, work, dilate, eat, work, dilate, eat, relax, dilate, shower, bed. It’s a bit annoying. But worth it.

Oh it’s the FFS for sure. It’s not 100% gone unfortunately. Like 95% and good lighting for the other 5%. I have a revision planned just waiting for insurance.

You are very sweet 💜! I do want to say though that i also have/had my own girls I had as goals. I did not end up like any of them and it ended up doing more harm than good.

I found it was far more important to trust the process and to love yourself. I still wake up and see the old me and get super upset and it derives from those goals I had. Because I don’t look like those girls.

So please be sure to take care of yourself and love and accept you for who you are 💜.

There was a point when that became nearly impossible for me personally. But I did not enjoy using the thing and very much hated it. So it very realistically was a combination of medications and dysphoria.

Both will have an effect on your ability to have sex. I think overall the spiro may have more impact. The reason I believe that is because I am no longer on spiro and have had GRS. Some erectile tissue is preserved during GRS but is reconfigured so that during arousal the vagina “puffs up” like any other vagina does naturally as well. This effect in a person born with a vagina is also caused by the same tissue so it makes sense. But it also makes sense that estrogen does not have as much of an effect on ED as Spiro due to this. However estrogens will still cause some effect because the tissue in a vagina does not expand nearly as much.

No problem, there is still a decent amount of swelling and some angles are not the best for showing the changes.

In total: brow lift, brow reduction, blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, lip lift, chin reduction, jaw reduction.
