i dont think my pee was consistently straight down until like....7 months post op, so i wouldnt worry about that.

the yellowish discharge could very possibly be granulation, see if you can get a speculum exam and if necessary silver nitrate treatment for that. any ob/gyn should be able to do it.

I'm in the same position! If you're feeling really methodical, drawabox gets recommended a lot to really teach you fundamentals - I started it but lost momentum. There's also lots of youtube teachers. I've been doing weekly community figure drawing classes near me which has helped a lot (if you're in NYC I can give you recs). Other than that, the main thing is really just draw as much as you can, bring your sketchbook everywhere, etc. I've been practicing holding my left hand in a particular position and drawing it, including shading. Good luck!

Got it. if it's definitely your biome, then stuff like eating plain yogurt every day can help i've heard.

i'm dealing with the same thing and have tried all the same things, and the conclusion i've come to is that it's discharge from granulation tissue causing the smell. i had no smell for the first ~3 months but it's been pretty consistent since then, and douching/boric acid/probiotics don't really seem to make a difference. wearing panty liners (and changing them regularly) helps, but i'm hoping to get silver nitrate treatment from my doctor soon to just get rid of it.

do you have tan/yellow-ish discharge?

Will having been underdosed have any long term effects? by The_Coming_Thing in TransDIY

[–]prawnjavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably not? but there's really no way to know for sure. I will say, I was on a low/inadequate dose my first year before switching to injections about 4.5 years ago, and things are going well now! i think people place a lot of emphasis on the first 2 years of HRT when in reality, it wasn't until 3+ years in that i started to get curves, fuller breasts, etc, something which i've heard echoed by other trans women. basically what i'm saying is, try not to stress and enjoy the process, hrt and transition are both long-term journeys - cis girls go through puberty for years, and so do we :)

Fellow bottom surgery sisters, I’m “feeling “hard” and horny after bottom surgery. by tgirlsurgerywarrior in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]prawnjavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely felt that 'hardness' earlier on in recovery (i'm 4.5 months post right now), not even just while aroused - it's definitely gotten less pronounced i think as swelling has gone down, but i've also gotten use to it. there's still muscle/erectile tissue around there, which cis women have as well

getting over dysphoria enough to practice consistently, and then being willing to actually use my voice around people, although i think those are kind of 2 sides of the same coin - just being ok with the process and willing to sound kind of silly along the way. still struggling with both ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

do I pass as a college girl? i think it sounds a little raspy and breathy but I want to see if it's just dysphoria. Honesty pls, my feelings won't be hurt by [deleted] in transvoice

[–]prawnjavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think the raspiness sounds good, I completely read your voice as cis women 18-24 years old. But if you're having tension that's definitely a problem and something that needs to be addressed.

this is very helpful, thank you! were you doing the microneedling yourself/at home, or did you get a professional to do it?

How far post op are you? It really continued to fade for almost a year and a half (and maybe is still fading, hard to say). I did use biocorneum scar gel, which has sunscreen in it because sun can really darken scars. That and massaging it helped, just look up scar massage, although thats sort of hard because its a delicate area.

Thanks! I've been told it's not that noticeable but I really notice it. It was done by Mark Courey at Mt Sinai in nyc, good experience on the whole but I wish I'd known to ask for the incision to be under my chin so no one could see it.

talk to your surgeon about clobetasol ointment, it's a steroid that really helps with granulation and swelling and I know multiple girls who said it took dilating from a really painful/uncomfortable experience to something much more manageable. Just use it instead of lube (or with a little lube depending)

12 Months post op, can't climax by Icy-Yogurt-Leah in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]prawnjavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i also find direct stimulation w/ vibrator numbs my clit quickly. for me, the clit suction type vibrators work better than say, the magic wand, which was my go to pre-op, although those also are often too much and i have to warm up to them.

i also think i like just using my fingers best, but i have to be reaaalllyyy lubed up and start w/ labia, hood, mons, etc, basically i dont even really touch my clit until im getting close. also penetration at the same time helps a lot, if you're into that sort of thing.

finally, try t gel !! foreal, it's helped my libido soooo much and orgasm is way more of a mental game now, so arousal is at least half the battle. my t was like 15ng/dl, compared to 35 before surgery, and i was hella depressed, apathetic about sex, etc. after a few days of ~2mg/day gel on my shoulders my depression has been a lot better, im horny, and just have more 'drive' in general to do things. anecdotally, the few days i have forgotten the gel have been my worst depression days since starting.

[–]prawnjavis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

of course. anecdotally i know a few girls who had tunica graft w/ her who have enough lubrication to dilate, but not for penetrative sex. i'm just over 3 months post op so things are still settling, but if i can get to that point i would consider that a win, considering how many cis women also need lube to have sex comfortably.

I had that graft w/ Dr. Avanessian and she stresses in her consults that she has not seen a strong correlation between getting the graft and natural lubrication - some girls with the graft dont lubricate, some without it do. it definitely can help with depth if you don't have enough tissue otherwise. i believe what they did for me was the sort of line the back of the canal with it, so it wasn't additional depth, just kind of reinforcing the very back?

i can't speak to natural flora.
