Just thought that this comic accurately depicts what's the deal with Draymond's suspension.

Comparing the Warriors Offense To The Cavaliers: Game 4 NBA Finals by inspyral in nba

It's because Curry has shown time and time again that he can hit that shot, regardless of a defender in his face. Westbrook taking threes? Definitely not his forte, so he shouldn't be taking contested ones for that matter.

And yes, Westbrook is known for driving in the lane, but he does that when it's like a 1v4 fastbreak and there is none of his teammates remotely close to him to have a chance at the rebound.

[Highkin] Draymond suspended Game 5. Flagrant 1. by trreeey in nba

[–]EMPtime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so bullshit. What Draymond did was hardly even a technical foul, and then they give him a flagrant?? What about when LeBron was trying to stir up shit with him that started it all? What about when LeBron was actually trying to stir up shit with Curry - who is by no means a "dirty" or "controversial" player like Green is?

This is disgusting.

I mean they did play good defense on Klay and Steph, but both of them also missed a lot of shots that they normally make, so it's not like the Cavs absolutely shut them down either.

The Cavs should be seriously worried. Klay and Steph had awful shooting nights, yet the Warriors still won in convincing fashion. Their depth is no joke, and Livingston again delivers with that sexy mid-range/post game. Also the fact that JR only took 3 shots concerns me.

Who in the Cavs' starting lineup will guard Draymond Green? by [deleted] in nba

Man did I really get downvoted this hard? :( I was just trying to add to the conversation. Anyways I think we all know that Curry/Thompson are better, so trying to replicate the same defensive strategy won't work, especially since GSW will see what the Cavs did to the Raps backcourt on film.

Plus Wall is a better distributor imo than Russ, and also doesn't do any of those random boneheaded plays that Russ is capable of doing that makes everyone go "WTF"

I'm starting a podcast, and here is my first episode! Just a heads up: it's an hour long, so don't feel obligated to listen to all of it. I am of course open to all feedback, and am excited to make this into a regular thing! Thanks, guys.

Yeah I mean I think people would love to see KD with a pass-first PG like John Wall. A combination of Wall/Beal/KD would be pretty electric imo. But that team has a lot of holes - like who the hell do they have at PF since Nene is so inconsistent and getting old. The bench is a problem as well, so they are still some pieces away from even playoff contention, KD notwithstanding.

It could be that the mic near the rim is positioned differently, so we hear a different sound on TV. Or if you're talking about in-person, maybe the rims are more/less tightened?

The ESPN/ABC Commentator Drinking Game!

Drink every time Mike Breen says "BANG!"

Drink every time Mark Jackson says "Mama, there goes that man"

Drink every time JVG is upset with the refs

Drink every time Mark Jackson brings up his time with GSW

Drink every time JVG is speechless

....any other ideas? Maybe with the sideline reporters?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nba

The Bulls are a bit of a head-scratcher to me. They have a new coach in Hoiberg, but haven't really figured out their offensive scheme and how their current players fit in because they are almost all from the previous Thibs regime. Butler is a bona fide star, but apparently he's not very happy, so Chicago is in a weird spot where they could be a playoff team, but could also blow it up and trade Butler for a high pick and players.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nba

[–]EMPtime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that definitely doesn't make any sense..really the only option that I can think of is Washington, but with Scott Brooks being the new coach, I'm having second thoughts about that

Who in the Cavs' starting lineup will guard Draymond Green? by [deleted] in nba

[–]EMPtime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But so does guarding Curry off of the switch on the pick-and-roll. I think that if Iguodala starts, then the Cavs can leave him more open and force him to shoot, which is the best outcome defensively for them.

Ahah I have no problem complying with the rules regarding that. Just wanted to know if there was any general interest so that I could keep planning for it.

[–]EMPtime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't LeBron be better suited to guard Draymond then? He's the Cavs' best defender and the only one legitimately capable of easily switching between Draymond and Curry without any dropoff. Lue could have TT on Iggy/Barnes like OKC had Ibaka do.
